Dr. Farrell, a former board member of NOW, tries to build an understanding between men and women. The format is an essay with a woman which provides some of Farrell's key points. This is an interesting and different approach to scholarship that provides honest answers to honest questions.

A ficticious novel by a nationally acclaimed writer in which the protagonist challenges the norms of society . The issues and themes include class, social structure, activism and sexuality.

A book that describes the history of feminism that is very easy to understand.

In the Company of Women: Voices from the Women's Movement.
Bonnie Watkins and Nina Rothchild.
This is a book filled with many women's personal accounts of different parts of the women's movement.

Organizing Women in Contemporary Russia: Engendering Transition
Valerie Sperling, 1999
A rich clearly written analysis of the women's movement in Russia. It details the formation and development in a country which is undergoing many changes. The books contains many interviews and challenges facing the women's movement.

Community Activism and Feminist Politics: Organizing Across Race, Class, and Gender
Nancy A. Naples, 1997
A collection of women's community activism against violence, homophobia, racism, civil rights and environmental justice. It analyzes the interconnecting facets of gender, race, culture and class, and how they shape the lives of women and women's political consciousness.
