Trailers I build custom trailers to suit YOUR needs. Every trailer is designed to the customer's individual specifications using CAD software. Trailers can be to haul one motorcycle behind a compact car, or a large tractor behind a truck. The only limit is YOUR requirements. I build open trailers for all requirements. There are several options, but if you want an option that isn't listed, just let me know and it can be added! For a free price quote and detailed drawings of a trailer to fit your requirements, please send an e-mail listing which of the following features you want on your trailer, and add a description of any special options you want. For trailer questions, a price quote, or more information, e-mail me at: trailers@hotmail.com Pictures are coming soon! Size: You need to decide the size of the floor of the trailer. This is only the usable decking, not including the tongue of the trailer. I need length and width. |
Capacity:
I need to know approximately how much maximum weight you will need to carry on the trailer. If you know specifically what you plan to carry, such as if its a Jeep Cherokee, CJ, farm equipment, etc., let me know so the trailer can be tailered to your needs.
Decking:
There are three basic levels of decking available: Full diamond plate steel, full plain steel, and pressure treated planks. The diamond plate is the most expensive, with the plain steel plate second, and pressure treated planks the cheapest. Special options include twin ramps with an open area in the center for a lower cost. Also available is a plywood deck for light duty trailers such as for ATVs or snowmobiles. If you require a tilting bed, that can be designed into smaller trailers.
Axles:
Do you want one, two, three, or more axles? Do you want a straight axle (capable of carrying the most weight), or a drop down axle (handles less weight, but lowers the deck height of the trailer.) Do you require a special bolt pattern, such as to match your tow vehicle?
Tires/Wheels:
What size tires and wheels do you want? Small trailers can be equipped with anywhere from 12"-15" wheels. Larger trailers should have a minimum of 14"-15" wheels. Heavy trailers should use 16" wheels to handle high capacity tires.
Brakes:
Do you want trailer brakes? Most states require trailer brakes for trailer gross weights over 2,000 lbs. If you want brakes, do you want them on only one axle, or on all axles? Do you want electric or surge brakes? (Electric brakes work best, but surge brakes don't require special tow vehicle wiring.)
Storage:
Do you want a storage box? Do you want a small one on the tongue of the trailer, a large one across the front of the trailer, or additional boxes along the sides in front of or behind the fenders?
Ball Size:
What size trailer ball do you want? 2" is the most common, but for small capacity trailers, you could use a smaller one. Very large trailers require larger balls, such as 2 5/16". Ball size doesn't affect price.
Fenders:
Sheetmetal fenders come standard on any trailer unless specified otherwise. Optional fenders include diamond plate steel which allow someone to step or stand on them, and they last longer and hold up better.
Lights:
Submersible trailer lights come standard. Side marker lights are included for longer trailers which require them. All lights have guards around them to protect them. If you require any special light setup, let me know.
