Overall Outlook Your way on becomming a vet begins with completion of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree. Those who graduate from this degree are required to write the national board exam administered by the National Examining Board of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. Students who passed the exam must then continue on with the B.C. Veterinary Medical Association exam to become a member of the Association. Once all exams are successfully completed, s/he can register and become licensed to practise in B.C. Practitioners are expected to complete at least 15 hours of continuing education per year to maintain their licences. |
