.+Fuyumi+. . Stats + Gallery ."Oh, I'm so sorry!".. Yes, that was probably the phrase that was uttered most by the twenty-five-year-old woman with tawny hair and compassionate brown eyes framed by perfectly circular glasses. Or was it, "I love you, Gabriel"?.. Lately, it could be either. But not long ago, the latter would be a phrase which had never crossed her lips. For, you see, it all started with a rose, twenty-seven years ago.. A beautiful woman by the name of Kaede Yazawa with rich black hair met a handsome angel with tawny blonde hair named Michael -- his first words to her were, as he presented her with the lovliest of roses she'd ever seen, " Please accept this token of my admiration .. it was all I could find that could even begin to compare to you. " Now Kaede lived in a tiny town -- one of those places where everybody knows everybody, and she was considered the most beautiful girl in the village at the age of only seventeen. So this was nothing she hadn't heard before. But Kaede was helplessly drawn to Michael, and soon abandoned herself to the overflowing emotions she felt for the angel in the mansion on the end of the row.. Two years later, Kaede and Michael smile to eachother after they've become engaged... But the smile wasn't to last long. For, within moments, a great man with wings of snowy white came in, and dragged Michael away.. That was the last that Kaede saw of her lover and love. Two days later came the news of her pregnancy. The whole village was shocked out of their wits.. Kaede had always seemed so pure and wonderful! And now she was pregnant by the angel who had left merely two days later? And pregnant while unmarried, at that?! .. The village cast her out, and Kaede moved to a large city. People there questioned her sanity, of course -- they knew nothing of angels. But nine months later, when Fuyumi was born, she was the best child that any of them had ever seen, and they began to wonder if perhaps Kaede wasn't off her rocker.. Fuyumi would grow up just as she was when she was a baby: sweet, kind, unprotesting, supportive, and frightened of affection. Having never known her father, Fuyumi was horrified when Kaede was diagnosed with leukemia when she was but seven years old.. Fuyumi swore to herself that she would never allow any man to do to her what had happened to her mother. She even went to the extreme of not allowing any man at all to ever get close to her. But that was the only strange thing about Fuyumi.. She was intelligent, caring, beautiful, and supportive. Despite Fuyumi's efforts not to turn out like her mother, they were of no use to Kaede, who held on much, much longer than expected, but died when Fuyumi was twenty-five, and she herself was only forty-four. Fuyumi fell into depression, and began neglecting her work, not paying much attention to wear she walked.. everything of that sort. After five years of neglect, the software company where she was employed was forced to let her go, despite their regret.. It would be on the way to an interview for another job that she bumped into him. Gabriel Selton. She dropped her glasses, and he helped her pick them up.. She would soon learn that he was the one responsible for hiring her or not. She was hired. One thing led to another, and the coincidences became too great to be anything but fate -- and it would seem that it was, in fact, fate. For within the day, she and Gabriel were devoted lovers. Thus is the story of Fuyumi. |
