FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-

Q) I can get street dog pups for nothing. Why should I pay a high price for an imported breed of dog?

A) If a street dog does all you want from a dog- yes get yourself one of them. They have excellent immune systems, can eat anything. They are disposable too!

Q) I live in Chiang Mai and don’t have a car. How could I transport my dog from Hat Yai?

A) Bangkok Airways will transport dogs- my dogs are used to cages and travel well.

It is not necessary sedate the dog (It is used to a cage), it is also dangerous as the change in pressure + the effects of sedatives combined can kill the dog. Don’t let the pilot demand sedation, he knows about flying planes, not about dogs (check what I say- do a websearch!).

Alternatively (and more straightforwardly) you can travel by train, the dog would go in the goods wagon in a cage. Just take a sack + some tie wire so you can cover the cage, in case the cage is standing in a constant draught. The charge is by weight- so it’s relatively cheap.

Q) I go to work all day and am concerned about leaving my young family with a big dog.

A) You would probably be pleasantly surprised at how tolerant and trustworthy my dogs are. But the ideal answer (for the dog too!) is to build a dog run, and let the dog out when you return. This means that the dog does pester people for attention (People who are not really interested in the dog). It also means that the dog is not pestered and teased by people who relate to dogs in that way (Young children will often do this. People who pass your property may do this. Young children passing your property definitely will, especially when they realize that the dog can not get to them.) You can then leave the dog with the run of your garden, as long as there is a responsible adult that will put the dog in the run if it becomes desirable.

Q) Aren’t European dogs at risk of health problems in the tropics?

A) Malinois are quite resilient dogs- Just have some medicines in a box to look after your dog-

Keep a jar of mange cream handy + some anti biotic wound powder.

Anti tick treatment + anti ear mite drops. That should be enough.

You probably won’t need the last 2 items unless your dog has close contact with local dogs Keep the annual vaccines up to date.

Q) I have no idea how to train a dog. How would I maintain control of the dog?

A) If you have a little bit of patience and are interested, I can show you how it can be done.

Q) Your dogs seem expensive. How do you justify your prices?

A) I will sell 8 week old pups for 20,000 Baht each. This is a below average price of a Malinois pup in Belgium.

To feed a dog for a year costs about 10,000 Baht.

My dogs get at least 80 Hrs training a year each. I charge 21,600 Baht for this (that is less than 300/Hr). Vaccinations, cleaning runs etc have not been included.

This is why I charge 50,000 for an adult dog with basic training.

Also my foundation breeding stock cost well over 140,000 Baht to buy and to bring to Thailand. They also need feeding and maintenance. Even when they are not breeding!

Q) I need a guard dog NOW. A near neighbor was robbed/assaulted a few days ago etc…..etc….my dog’s been poisoned (a possible sign that you are a target)…..etc…..etc.

A) I sometimes have older dogs available. Please contact me and we can discus your needs.
