I have brought good working Malinois
breeding stock with me to Thailand and am breeding and training
working security dogs here.
My objective is to breed sound working
security/search dogs suited to tropical conditions.
I plan to improve on the European
Malinois for use in the tropics by selecting for the following
A) Heat tolerance, to work longer
and harder in hot conditions.
B) Stronger bodies- The Malinois
is not “tested to destruction” in ringsport so in my opinion they
are a little to fragile, for really rough treatment (I mean physically
not mentally). By rough treatment I mean what they may encounter
as working security dogs. (I do not punish my dogs harshly during
training) In my breeding program, I am aiming for compact, determined,
trainable dogs.
C) Disease resistance. Dogs in the
tropics encounter more dog diseases than European dogs do. I also
think it is the job of the breeder to breed disease resistant dogs.
In my opinion the less the vet has to do with my dogs, the better
I have done my breeding.
I spent a year working on Dovre
Fjeld Kennels in Belgium learning training methods from the owner
Andre Vandergeten, and learning the every day work of running a
dog kennel, and training security dogs.
I would like to hear from anyone,
particularly in South East or East Asia-Thailand, Malaysia, Laos,
Cambodia, Vietnam, China, who is interested in buying good security/search
dogs. I will sell pups at 8 weeks old for 20,000 Thai Baht. If you
would like the dog to have more than ‘Come’, ‘Sit’, and ‘Down’.
The price will be increased accordingly.
I am training some of my dogs born on
on my kennels to display to the public.
I will sell these when trained and displayed.
