Assignment 5, Part 1: Coffee Sites Comparison
In my opinion, the newer one is much better organized, totally. At first, in terms of a background color, the original one has different color for each page. One of them is too dark and the other is kind of dazzling, so it's hard to read the contents. Also, all colors are inharmonious. It doesn¡¯t have uniformity. On the contrary, the new site has unified background color. It¡¯s not just simple white. Though the color is white, it has light blue design. So it¡¯s not so boring. Rather, the combination of white and blue makes me feel comfortable. Second, the old one has same font face for both titles and contents. So it doesn¡¯t attract people. At least, heading should be different font face to have distinguished font face compared to the content. On the other hand, the new one's headings are different fond faces, so it looks more interesting.
then let¡¯s look at each page and compare them. The main page is ¡°for coffee lover¡±.Though the contents are same all, arrangements of contents are so different. For the new one, the main introduction is in the center of this page and menus are horizontally organized below the introduction. But the old one¡¯s introduction is near the top and the menus are vertically arranges on the left. Because the new one¡¯s contents are in the middle, it seems like it¡¯s full of contents. Conversely, the original one¡¯s contents are arranged only the upper part of this page. So there¡¯s no contents on the bottom. It makes this page kind of empty. And you see ¡°coffee lover's test¡±, the other things are same for both. But one difference is arrangement for sub-contents. ¡°You speak the "language of coffee lovers¡± has several examples. The old one is left-centered. But the new one is middle-centered. So it attracts people¡¯s attentions more. It¡¯s same for ¡°quotes from olden times about coffee¡±. The new one is middle-centered and the old one is left-centered. The middle-centered one seem to be filled with contents harmoniously. ¡°other coffee sites¡±. At first, the headings are different. The new one is ¡°the other coffee sites¡± and sub title is ¡° coffee lovers unite¡±. For the old one is the opposite. Because the main heading should let people know what it¡¯s about. ¡° other coffee sites¡± is proper. And sub title like ¡° coffee lovers unite¡± can give more attractions. Also, the old one¡¯s recommended sites just start with the linked web site. And there're more specific explanations after that. But the new one starts with just the explanations and the web site is naturally included among the explanations. It looks more interesting and fascinating
