Yami no Matsuei ~~ 闇の末裔

  Yami no Matsuei is my favourite manga so far.... It is basically about Shinigami (Angels of Death) - in particular, Tsuzuki Asato and Kurosaki Hisoka. After death, the souls must be judged in order to be sent to the appropriate place for punishment or reward. In Japan, the land of the dead is called Meifu and the organisation that handles the processing of souls is JuOhCho, under which are ten separate governmental bureaus.

   The EnMaCho Shokan Division consists of eighteen Shinigamis who bring dead people to their trial. When people are supposed to die, their name is listed on the Kiseki (death list). If their name is on the Kiseki and they have not died - it is the Shinigami's job to kill them.

    Shinigami work in pairs and each pair is assigned to one of the nine sections of Japan. Shinigami are people with a strong connection to Chijou (world of living) - all have their own special reason for becoming a Shinigami. They have the privilege of travelling freely between Meifu and Chijou, which makes them the highest ranking employees of JuOhCho.

    The main characters in the anime are Tsuzuki Asato, Kurosaki Hisoka and Muraki Kazutaka (the main bad guy ^^) The manga contains a hint of shounen-ai but its great to read! The anime has 13 episodes which contain some of the cases from the manga. In case you haven't realised.. all of the Shinigami are dead! ><" They all have special powers to help them with their cases.
