WINSTON CUP- COCA COLA 600

Winston Cup - May 30, 1999

By far the coolest thing I've seen at a race was the arrival of Tony Stewart aboard Rusty Wallaces helicopter. Tony was easily seen in the helicopter waving to the fans who cheered wildly!!!

As Tony landed and got out of the helicopter he was introduced to the crowd. Again you can see the helicopter landed in the grass in front of pit road.

Here is Jeff Burton leading the race with Dale Jarrett, Jeff Gordon, and a host of others closely following.

Here is Dale Earnhardt Jr. entering the race track after a green flag pit stop.

This is Jeff Gordon entering the race track after a green flag pit stop. He was to have touble with his power steering pump which caused him to lose numerous laps. He finished 39th.

This is one of the later restarts. As the night got darker the quality of the pictures began to suffer. We had pretty nice seats in the Diamond Tower in turn 3 and they really offered some great views.

Steve Parks great night came to a sudden conclusion. Here is his car directly under the flag stand after tangling with Jeremy Mayfield. He led quite a few laps and appeared to have one of the better cars all night.

Here is Jeff Burton and Bobby Labonte on a caution lap. Those two, along with Tony Stewart really put on a great show all night.

A poor quality shot of a great moment. These three (Labonte, Stewart, and Burton) put on a fabulous show as they duke it out on the back stretch. What was not shown on TV was the incredible move Jeff Burton made on Labonte as Labonte tried to come up to speed after the final pit stop (under green).
