Jeff Gordon's DuPont Monte Carlo

Took an early ride to get these photos

I found out on a Friday morning that the #24 car was going to be in Utica NY the next morning. Knowing my son would love to see the car I called the store that was sponsoring the appearance. A very nice person told me to get there early and I did. I woke up my son at 6:00 AM and told him I had a big suprise for him and his friend. I took them to breakfast and we arrived at 8:00 AM. The official start being 9:00. We arrived just as the #24 car came off the trailer and was speeding across the parking lot. Needless to say those boys were excited!!! Unfortunately, I was a couple minutes late with the camera. With only about 20 people there I was able to get some really nice photos. However, the sponsors put the car in a tent. That seriously detracted from the beauty of the paint on the car. When they finally showed up with Rusty Wallaces car (see next page!!), there were over 150 people around. This became very difficult to get any "personal" shots of EJ and his buddy standing next to the car. After about 10 minutes of people crowding in the tent they threw everyone out and closed it up, set up a table and told everyone to get in a line. They then charged a $5 "donation" for the racing cards. By 9:00 AM there were over 500 people in line. At that point we left!!!!

I would like to express my gratitude to the Hendrick's motorsports team member who showed immense patience with those excited youngsters!!!

Great shots of the car from two angles

This is what it's all about. This little man was very excited. He is now very excited for his first trip to Daytona for the Pepsi 400 "happy hour"

This is EJ and his friend Ryan. They both love racing and to watch Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt race!!

EJ insisted that my picture get taken with him. All in all, we had a great day!!!!
