DEER PICTURES

This is, by far, my largest. Shot on opening day of southern tier shot gun season 1995. Taken in Central Square NY ( Thanks Mike for letting me use your stand!!) weighed well over 200 lbs. over 20 inch spread.

Opening day 1994 Sothern Tier shot gun. I thought these 2 six points were the same deer. Still hunting in a field of high grass, heard a grunting deer and saw a doe being chased by a buck, shot buck, up a hill, deer disappeared. Ran up hill, saw buck and doe running towards woods, shot buck. Wondered to myself "How did I miss?" Well I didn't.

this was a Small buck I got during the southern tier season 1996

My buddy Mike is on right. This is my FIRST "rack" buck. A little 8 point shot right behind my buddies house. Last day of season was COLD!! Automatic coffee machine set for 10:00 and I was headed in!! Christmas tree farm was a short cut (even though Mike said "don't bother, it was really busy this weekend", I went through. Air temp was -5F; I wanted coffe. Gun over my shoulder, head down, took gun off my shoulder to cross fence, cross fence, pick up gun, place gun on shoulder and start walking. Pick up head and THERE HE IS! Sling caught on arm yet he continues shooting (from the hip). Decides to "aim" on last shot and get's him. Thanks for the coffee Mike!

This is the same 2 six points I shot on the same day and my friend Dean who also got a nice 7 point that day.

Here's the results of my first shot with a bow. I REFUSE TO TAKE A BAD SHOT!! BAD SHOTS RESULT IN CRIPPLED DEER AND I DESPISE HUNTERS WHO DO NOT PRACTICE OR TAKE POOR SHOTS! My wife had just had Nicky on 10/25 and I was home helping out. On November 5, she let me head out around the house. Rifle season was open and I headed out in the back yard, more than happy just to get out. I was under dressed and only spooked a couple of doe on the way out. It was very cold and snowy so I headed in. In the afternoon my good friend Mike called and said let's bow hunt at my house. Well, he ends up being late and I head to my stand very late. From 500 yards away I see this deer headed across the edge of the woods towards my stand!! There was no way I could get into the stand without scaring him so I put all my USMC training to use and guess where he's going. Snuck all the way over to the bushes near the stand and here he comes. 30 yard shot.
