 DeLong's Ashley
July 1994
Ashley was the first goat to whom I bonded. Her call was the first to
greet me as I came into sight, and she flattered me by leaving the
security of the herd to join me on walks. We lost her to a sudden bout
of pneumonia, but her faith in us never faltered . When I reach The
Promised Land, I know the first call I hear will be that of Ashley,
welcoming me home!

Tulip

Tulip was my baby from three days old and lived with me in the house, sharing the fireside and hogging the armchair. She saved my life. I could not save hers. Her two kids went with her and never saw the sun
