My boss and I were talking about the new cars for 1998. Evidently the 1999 bug will be coming out in May.May?

After giving this very little thought, I soon realized just how ludicrous that is. How can you deem a car a "1999" when it's manufactured and sold in 1998?
I'm well aware that they've been putting the next year's cars out in August or so. That almost seems reasonable. In August, there are only 4 months left of the year. We are already planning for the next one.
But May?
Before you know it, it will be 1999. When February rolls around, the Honda 2000 will be on the market. The year after that, the Germans will have the 2002 Jetta being offered in March of the year 2000.
What then? Will they come out with the 2010 Saab in 2005?
Just a little something to think about.
