RICK'S BASS FISHING PAGE

WELCOME

While the New England area is not blessed with the truly large specimens of bass found in other parts of the country, we do have a solid fishery for both largemouth and smallmouth bass that holds up well throughout the open water season. With a variety of lake types(small weed choked ponds, to large, rocky, ultra-clear lakes) and some major and minor river systems there is no shortage of opportunities to find some active fish. If there's a more enjoyable place to fish during the fall foliage season, I've not seen it yet. Enjoy your visit!

For those of you using Netscape you'll have to click on the note to hear the music. Hurry! We are already dancing in the den!

CATCH & RELEASE

Please practice catch and release! It is especially important in our heavily pressured waters here in the northeast. Protecting our aquatic resources is every fisherman's responsibility!

These pages have been created using a Webtv terminal except for uploading graphics and photos. This was done on a friend's computer. While it has been fun learning HTML it's also been frustrating at times.

1997 Recap

Fishing overall was decent in "97" with good numbers of fish but the bigun's were harder to come by than normal. A cold and windy spring had seasonal patterns set back by two or three weeks in April and May. Once June started summer was upon us and a fine summer it was albeit a little drier than usual. Fall seemed to start a little early with many cool blustery days in Sept. and Oct. Club fishing was a mixed bag in "97" with a typically slooow start, a good summer and taking the gas pipe in the last tx. of the year. Finished in fifth place, down from second in "96". Deb finished in eleventh place and really struggled for most of the year. Now that the "new boat" curse is off of us I'm looking forward to "98" with anticipation as we have two new lakes(Bow and Baboosic) scheduled and are returning to two of my favorites(Pawtuckaway and Gr. East).
