Weiß Kreuz / Weiss Kreuz (pronounced as Vice Kroitz)

By Project Weiß

Translated as White Cross (German)

(According to the anime...)

Four cool assassins well-known for their good looks... *Bishounen!* ^^x In the day, they are florists at a store perpetually hoarded by female students looking for eye candy... But when the sun sets, they become assassins out on a mission...

Each has his own choice of weapon(s)... Hidaka Ken's are gloves with sharp claws which are retractable. Tsukiyono Omi uses darts and a cross-bow. Fujimiya Aya prefers a katana (Japanese sword) and last but not least, Youji Kudo uses string which is kept in a watch. (Think dental floss rolled into the face of a watch ^^;;)

Every one of them has a sad secret...

Aya (real name Ran) has a sister named Aya... ^^;; Their parents were murdered when the siblings were out shopping for a birthday present for Aya-chan... When they returned home, they found their parents murdered in their own home. Ran was alert enough to realise that the house was about to explode and warned his sister, who managed to run out in time to escape safely. Ran, on the other hand, managed to sustain some injuries due to the explosion. Dazed and almost in shock, Aya-chan could only stand and stare as a car then came charging down toward her. In front of her horrified brother's eyes, Aya-chan was knocked down. She survived, but remained in coma for about two years while her brother, Ran, adopted her name and swore revenge on Takatori Reiji, the man behind these tragic events...

Ken was a Japanese League soccer player... He was accused of deliberately causing his team to lose the game... Apparently, in actual fact, his best friend (Kase) had framed Ken... Ken only found that out years later when they chanced upon one another again. With tears in his eyes, Ken killed Kase as he was assigned to do as part of a mission...

Youji was a detective. While investigating something with his female partner, Asuka, they were chased, and Youji ended up being wounded. He told her that he couldn't go on anymore, and told her to escape without him. As she left, she was shot dead in front of a horrified Youji. Apparently the relationship between the two was something more than partnership. However, history somehow repeats itself...

Omi, the youngest of the four, has a second identity... His real name is Mamoru Takatori... He was kidnapped at a young age, and his father, Reiji Takatori refused to pay the ransom. (The reason for his refusal was that Reiji had discovered that Omi's biological father was actually the former's younger brother, Shuuichi.) Just as Omi was about to be killed by his kidnappers, someone came along and saved him. That person turned out to be none other than Shuuichi Takatori...

Note 1: The Weiß Kreuz manga is only in Japanese, I have yet to see Chinese translations... ^^;; (But if anyone did see the Chinese version, please email me!! ^^x Thanks...)

Note 2: Anime Episode Synopsis coming soon! ;)

Sakura's main job as a card captor is to catch all the Clow cards, like this one below, in order to prevent them from harming the people in the town in which she lives.

The Flower.jpg (157073 bytes)

This is mainly about how Sakura captures the Clow cards with the help of Kero-chan, her best friend (Tomoyo Daidouji), and eventually the help of Li Syaoran, a boy from Hong Kong...

But as the plot thickens, things suddenly aren't as easy nor as simple as they seem... (more coming soon ^^x)

Ayashi no Ceres

Another manga by Watase Yuu...

Aya was an ordinary girl. That is, until her 16th birthday, which was when she found out that she had tennyo blood in her. Because of this, a tennyo named Ceres, who is also Aya's ancestor, can possess Aya's body as soon as Aya reaches the age of 16.

Hence, on the day of their 16th birthday, she and her twin brother, Aki, were called to their grandfather's house for what they thought was a birthday celebration. While they were there, they were shown a preserved hand, to their utmost horror and disgust. It was then that judging from Aya's reactions to the hand that Aya's family found what they were looking for-- The evidence of tennyo blood in Aya. Hence, in the attempt to suppress Ceres, Aya's family attacked Aya intending to kill her, but their efforts were in vain and Aya managed to escape with the help of Yuuhi (who was sent to help her in the first place). Aki, on the other hand, ended up having gashes all over his entire body and was unable to do likewise. He was thereafter forced to stay overly protected in his grandfather's house...

Ceres was a powerful tennyo, yet Aya was somehow strong enough to suppress the tennyo, and even managed to make a deal with her. All Ceres wanted was revenge on Shiso, the man who refused to let her go back to the heavens for his own selfish reasons. Moreover, she wanted and needed to get her hagoromo (which she believed was hidden by Shiso) back, so that she would be able to return to the heavens.

The deal was on. Aya promised to help Ceres on the condition that Ceres would not only not kill or harm Aki (who was now possessed by Shiso) but would also return to where she came from as soon as she retrieved her hagoromo. However, things are just getting started and more complex...

Yami no Matsuei

By Yoko Matsushita

Translated as Descendant of the Dark

Tsuzuki Asato is a Shinnigami, or a god of death. His partner is Hisoka Kurosaki. The two work for the Emperor of the Underworld, and their main job is to bring lost souls back to where they belong.  This series is based mainly on the cases the two undertake. Careful, though, some of the victims on their cases were terribly chopped up and... (Need I say more?) Aside from that, it is a comedy (especially when Tsuzuki cooks), part romance, and part mystery...

(Slightly) More details...

Tsuzuki and Hisoka are actually dead. (Imagine still having to work after being dead for 90 plus years... @_@) Tsuzuki died when he was 26, and Hisoka died when he was 16.  Tsuzuki is the only Shinnigami who can use the powers of 12 shikigami, while others can use the powers of only up to 3 shikigami, hence causing jealousy amongst the Shinnigami...

Rekka no Honou

By Nobuyuki Anzai

Translated as Flame of Recca

Flame of Recca is about a teenage boy named Recca who yearns to be a ninja. Then he finds out he really is one...

400 years ago, Kagerou, bore a son whom she named Recca. However, his father was a flame caster (i.e. able to produce fire from his bare hands), and had another wife, who had borne him another son 4 years earlier by the name of Kurei.

Unfortunately, by tradition, only one flame caster was to be born per generation. A conference was held. Some felt that Recca was also able to produce flame because of the fact that Kurei was inadequate. A conclusion was finally made-- Recca was allowed to stay as he was, but Kurei was forced to live with his mother as an outcasts. Kurei was thereafter often bullied by the rest of the children, and henceforth developed deep hatred towards Recca for making he and his mother go through psychological and physical torture every day.

Some time later, war broke out and in order to save Recca from the turmoil of war, Kagerou sent him 400 years ahead of time. However, seeing this, Kurei seized the opportunity to follow Recca in the time tunnel before Kagerou could prevent him from doing so. Because Kagerou had sent Recca and Kurei through time, the sole consequence she had to face was the curse of immortality. She hence used this to search for her long-lost son, yearning to see him once again.

Now, 400 years later, Kurei has finally found Recca, and yearns to kill him. And at that same moment, Kagerou finds her long lost son only to realise that she can never touch him...
