Tenkaichi Budoukai "The Worlds Best Martial Arts Tournament"
The Tenkaichi Budoukai is a tournament that is held every three years on May 7th. The Tenkaichi Budoukai was delayed for eleven years for the 23rd and 24th Budoukai because the battle arena had to be rebuilt. Between the 24th and 25th Bedoukai, there was a seven year delay due to the Cell Game. Thanks to Majinn Buu, the 25th and 26th Bedoukai was delayed for four years. This is the ultimate martial arts tournament that the Dragon ball series revolved around. The greatest fighter from all around the earth gather at every tournament to battle for the title of world champion, that and they do get a sweet prize at the end.
Rules :
How to be disqualified :
-You may not use any kind of weapon or foreign object
(Tao Pai Pai used a cannon and sword, therefore even if he would have beaten Tenshinhan he would have been disqualified in the end)
- You cannot leave when the tournament is being held
-Killing your opponent is a no no (Although I am sure a lot of contestants bend this rule)
You will lose immediately if you :
-You are knocked unconscious
-If you are unable to get up after a count of 10
-If you are knocked out of the ring ( The way Tenshinhan beat Goku in the 22nd TK)
- If you say " I give up" ( Used by Jackie Chun)
These are some other ground rules:
- You may not poke your opponent in the eyes
-No Low Blows ( If you think about it, all the techniques Bacteria uses are pretty low)

Round 1 :
Krillin VS Bacteria
(Note : These are the 8 preliminary matches, there were about 120 matches before these 8 preliminary matches. Those earlier matches were held in a concealed room.
The first battle is between the little bald monk, Krillin, and the smelly bacteria. BActeria is unable to land any real blows onto Krillin, so he lets him have a smell of his breath and crotch sweat. This sends Krillin unconscious for a few counts. When Krillin gets up he is being strangled by Bacteria, the smell is worse then the strangle. Luckily, Krillin lets Bacteria have a haymaker right in the face and then makes his way for an escape into the larger section of the tournament. He dashed under Bacteria's legs, but Bacteria sits one him.
Bacteria is crushing Krillin and then lets out a fart. (eww) Bacteria then gets up and claims victory. But as we all know, Krillin doesn't have a nose. Goku reminds him of that and manages to get Krillin up before the 9th count. Krillin then lands a knock out punch on Bacteria and farts in his face. Yeah Krillin.
Yamcha VS Jackie Chun
This is the second battle. Yamcha the desert bandit against Kamesennin, in disguise as jackie Chun (this is a pun off of Jackie Chan) Chun knocked out all his opponents with one hit, the one hit wonder. Yamcha decided to go all out and send all the kicks and punches on Chun, but Chun dodges the attack with little effort. Everyone is in disbelief by the old man's power, and Yamcha is ripping mad. Yamcha then lets out his wolf technique but Chun dodges the blow. Chun brings more shame to Yamcha when he focuses his energy and creates a wind strong enough to knock Yamcha out of the ring.
This match is between the noble Nam(Namu) and the seductress Lan Fan. Namu wants to win the contest money so that he will be able to buy water for his village, which is experiencing a drought. Lan Fan begins the battle by making a pass at Namu. Namu is startled and lowers his guard, and Lan Fan immediately lands a round house to his neck and a bonk on the head. Namu recovers before a third blow and is about to hit Lan Fan, when Lan Fan shrieks out that she is hurt. Namu says that he is sorry, and Lan Fan takes advantage of Namu and lands a knock on the chest. Namu then declares that he will pummel her, and then Lan Fan takes off all her clothes, except her under wear. Namu is startled, but before Lan Fan could knock him out of the ring, Namu manages to remember his village and knock Lan Fan unconscious.
Match four is between our hero Goku and the formidable Giran. Giran has actually won many martial arts tournaments. The match begins with Giran suckering Goku to move closer to see something. Goku comes closer and allows Giran to smack him into a wall. Everyone believes the match is over, but Goku manages to get up as if nothing has just happened. Goku then attacks Giran and the two exchange a few blows here and there. Then out of no where, Goku lands a blow right in Girans stomach, and picks up Giran by the tail and throws him out of the ring. Goku is declared the winner, but what is this!!! Giran can fly!! Giran returns to the ring. Giran then spits some special gum on Goku and this makes Goku unable to move. Giran then knocked Goku on the head and out of the ring. Right before Goku is about to hit the ground he summon his Kinton to bring him back to the ring. Giran complains that this is cheating, but Goku is not disqualified. Goku all of sudden grows his tail back, then Goku breaks the gum and knocks hole in the wall with a jump kick. Giran then gives up.
Round two :
This round begins with Krillin against Jackie Chun. Krillin misses twice as he attacks Chun, and then unleashes a large number of kicks. Chun continues to block all of Krillin's attacks, until Krillin catched Chun off guard and made him have to block a blow physically. Jackie lands a tap on Krillin's head, which sends him flying into a wall. Krillin is startled but remembers that his training is sufficient to see Jackie's moves. The next time Jackie attacks, Krillin was able to blow it. The next charge send Krillin out for 9 counts, the charge was so fast that the announcer did not see it. Krillin then becomes crafty, remembering that Jackie loves panties, Krillin pulls some out and tosses them at Chun. Chun leaps for the panties and then recieves a sharp kick from Krillin. Chun is sent flying in the air, but uses a Kamehameha to return back to the ring. Krillin is totally surprised, and Jackie creates a fake image of himself as Krillin charges. Jackie then lands a blow to Krillin and makes him unconscious.
The second match in round two pits Goku versus the noble Nam(Namu). The two fighters stare at each other at first, but then Goku uses the image technique Chun used. Namu is able to avoid Goku and kicks Goku, but Goku dodges. They begin exchanging blows with each blocks, until Namu lands a blow on Goku. Goku stumbles, but is able to sweep kick Namu and land a punch in. Namu then uses his speed to land a fast blow onto Goku, which sends Goku onto the ground. As Namu is about to land a finishing blow, Goku grabs Namu with his tail and trips Namu. Goku then mimicks a top and confuses Namu, until he gets dizzy. Namu lands a strong attack on Goku's neck, knocking him out. Goku gets up before the 10 count, and both fighters jump up into the air. Goku lands down first and gets ready for Namu to pounce on him. namu attacks Goku by pouncing, but Goku kicks him out of the ring and wins.
Final Match :
Everyone is quiet as this match begins. Once the match begins, Jackie charges at Goku. Jackie attacks but misses, and then flies up into the air and lands a blow onto Goku when he lands back down on the ring. Goku is sent flying into the city, and he cannot use his Kinton. Goku manages to come back by using his tail like a helicopter. Goku and Chun then let out Kamehamehas, and their collisions makes a blue light. Chun then uses his one image technique, but Goku is able to detect Chun. Ohh wait Chun made a second image. Chun then kicks Goku into a wall, demolishing the wall. Goku then uses a three image technique, and is able to knock Chun on the head. Chun is angry and almost reveals his identity. Unfortunately, Goku is dumb and never caught on. Chun then used a new technique, he pretended to be drunk. Goku is confused and is caught off guard. Chun punches Goku many times. Goku counters by acting like a Monkey and lands a few blows himself. Jackie then uses a technique that sends Goku to sleep, Goku is about to lose when Bulam says" Food!!" Goku wakes up and sends a Jankenpo at Chun, which he blocks. The second Jakenpo sends Chun in pain. Chun then decides to use his ultimate attack, he concentrates electricity and sends it into Goku. Goku says "I give up" but at that moment he sees a full moon and becomes an Ozauru.
Jackie uses his Chou-Kamehameha, and his clothes rip up as he muscles buldge out. He uses his ultimate Kamehameha and knocks out the Ozauru Goku by hitting the moon. The match resumes, but Goku becomes hungry and lets his guard down. Jackie sends another Kamehameha but he has no more ki. Goku than takes the offensive and knocks Jackie out of the ring. Jackie manages to climb up and not lose, and now both fighters have no ki. They exchange blow after blow and finally give each other a kick powerful enough to send both of them out for over the count of 10. The officials decide that whoever can get up and say I win will win. Goku gets up and falls back down after saying "I guess I' but Jackie gets up and manages to say it all.
