Ken goes through all the teams from best to worst for 2005.

Pre Season Rankings- By Ken

The 2005 Season is still a while away, but its never to early to rank the teams based on how they will do next year. I have come up with a system of rankings of all the BFL teams from best to worst. This takes into account how the team has performed last season and in seasons past. Close games played in verses blowouts. And how the team has improved thus far into the off season.

1. Snowhill Icebergs - Mark C.
Although Mark did not play a single down in 2004, you have to believe that the 2003 Champion is still on top in the BFL. In his only season of play, he defeated the Black Knights twice, the Sand Storm, and the Sparrows. Until proven otherwise, the Icebergs are the best, when Mark plays.

2. Pelham Sparrows - Kenny G.
Last season, Kenny proved again that he has the skills to strive in this league. After his 0-1 start, Ken was unstoppable on offense scoring on every single possession. In his final 5 games, Ken had less than 10 incompletions. And in the BFL Bowl, his defense dominated the 2nd half.

3. Norton Black Knights - John T.
John has always been one of the best teams in the BFL. Last season, he handed the Sparrows their only loss. With John's speed and veteran skills, he has proven he can win any game. John has been in 3 BFL Bowls and and is due to win one soon. John has always been one of the best and things will stay the same in 05'.

4. Pelham Falcons - Ross C.
Not often can an expansion team be put this high in a pre season ranking. But knowing Ross's ability coming into this season, its hard putting him this low, at 4. Ross may be the fastest team in the league. The X factor here will be how quickly Ross learns the game and eliminates rookie errors.

5. Old Stage SandStorm - Charlie A.
Last season, Charlie was absolutely dominant in the regular season setting nearly every offensive record. However, a Semi Final loss to the Bulldogs cost him the BFL Bowl Spot. If Charlie plays as determined this season, he will have a great shot to repeat his success, but he has got to plat with the same desire.

6. Congress Bulldogs - Andrew P.
Everyone knew that the Bulldogs had the potential to be a solid team in the league. Last season, just about every bounce went in the Bulldogs favor and Andy had a break out year, being a half away from winning BFL Bowl VII. Andrew can go far again if he plays as focused.

7. Buttonwood Gamblers - Mark K .
This is a low spot for this dominate team. Mark's only problem his that he doesn't put away teams. He has lost 4 playoff games by a total of 4 points in the past 4 seasons. But don't let the low ranking fool you. Mark can easily be a top 3 team in the BFL. He is the only team to hand a loss to the Icebergs.

8. Smith Crusaders - Rich F.
The Crusaders are over due to have a break out season. In the playoffs, the Crusaders played one of their best games and nearly knocked off the Sparrows. Rich is another middle of the road team that can be dangerous down in the playoffs. Rich plays at his best when he faces the better teams in the league.

9. Jernee Dragons - Rich Z.
The Dragons are a great franchise, with little left to prove. Just a few years ago, the Dragons were the most dominate team. However, Rich finds him self in a competitive league. Will we see the Dragons of old return in 2005? There is a chance, but there is a better chance that Rich will be out to have some fun.

10. Buffalo Sea Raiders - Jason D.
Deger has some ability to play but it is still yet to be determined if this team has the ability to be with the middle tear of the league. In his rookie season last year, he played close with the Dragons. No one is sure how this team will fare, but based on last year, he has been ranked low. Don't expect a winning season.

11. Victory Fear - Sean W.
Sean is on a historic 6 game losing steak dating back to 2002. In those 6 games, he has lost a few close matchups. Sean is a long way away from being the best, but needs to clean up his game to be able to make the playoffs. Last year, Sean's stamina was quite low, giving him some sloppy second halves.

12. Farms Produce - Chris S.
Despite going 0-3, Chris played as hard as he could on every play. But to his credit, he never quit any game regardless of the score. Chris has vowed to pull a "Charlie" and go from worst to first, but well see what happens when the time comes. Can the Produce win? Possibly against the Fear or Sea Raiders. But other games seem far too out of reach for this team.
