Icebergs Edge the Bulldogs in Overtime

Check out the Results from Game 1 Of the Doubleheader Game 1
May 15 , 2005- Last season, the Icebergs (1-0) sat out the season while the Bulldogs (0-1) found thier way to BFL Bowl VII. Both teams, each having BFL Bowl experence matched up in one of the most anticipated games ever, in the 100th BFL game.

This game saw two great teams exchanging touchdowns throughout. The afternoon sun was hot and Howie Gogo was on fire. Both teams would go on to exchange touchdowns throughout.

But as the game grew on, fatigue settled in for both of these teams. Mark of the Icebergs, and Andy of the Bulldogs would not allow them selves to lose. However, with only a few seconds left in the first half, Andrew missed a golden oppritunity to tie the score when Mark picked off a pass in the endzone.

While Howie's hail mary pass was intercepted by the Bulldogs as time ran out in the half, the Bulldogs would be down by seven 30-23, instead of tied.

Up 14 points, 65-51, with less then a minute to play, the Icebergs had the game all but wrapped up. A touchdown by the Bulldogs cut the lead down to 7. Then a successful on side throw gave the Bulldogs a chance to tie the score up, which they did. As time ran out in regulation, the score was tied at 65-65.

In overtime, the Icebergs had 2 clutch defensive plays. First batting down a would-be 2 pointer. Then stopping the Bulldogs from scoring a 1 pointer. On his possession, Mark scored on his first play and won the game 68-65.

Notes:
-This game was both the Icebergs and the Bulldogs first overtime game.
-This was the first overtime game since May 23, 2004, also a doubleheader day.
-This game marked the BFL's 100th game.
-The 19 people in attendance, for the 3rd straight game, is tied for the 2nd largest all time.
