July
4, 2005- The Falcons (3-0) played in three very close games all
year long but managed to win all 3 of them in exciting fashion.
For his 3rd victory, it came against the Pelham Sparrows (1-2).
After
falling behind by 9-0 to start the game, Ross climbed back into
the game with two point conversions. The game was a see saw type
scoring, and saw many lead changes.
The
Big mistake for the playoff hopeful Sparrows came on a failed 3rd
and 1 with just over a minute to play. At the time, the Sparrows
were trailing 74-72, but Ken lost track of the downs. Soon Ross
would be up 81-72.
The
Sparrows would score but fail on the onside throw, giving the Falcons
the victory in one of the most exciting games of the year.
Notes:
-The Falcons are the first expansion team to go 3-0 in their first
season
-The Sparrows are in jepordy of missing the playoffs if the Gamblers
and Icebergs win. Ken will make the playoffs with either a Gamblers
loss or an Icebergs loss.
