1999 represented the rebirth of our GardenZeitgeist after a number of years on hold while we focused our attentions on the kids growing up and the dog ruled the backyard!

In 1999, we started the patio garden centered on the prolific blooming rose of sharon - a neighbourhood condolence in memory of Dad.

At the back of the patio, a trellis has been set to train an early white double clematis whose roots are shaded by bishopweed.

Along the south fence, most of the old shrub border has been removed and we've started a beginning planting of hosta and orange day lilies under the sugar maple.

Annual impatiens provide a burst of colour under dad's spruce along the back fence.
