Synopsis:

Giving a person you love 1000 origami cranes means you will be with that person forever whereas giving a person a pair of shoes is simply bad luck. In the video, A Thousand Birds and A Pair of Shoes, Oliver J. Tan explores these paper birds and a pair of shoes. Exploring man's childhood and how shoes, birds, and a struggle with superstition affect his outlook on life. Tan directs this short video in his native neighborhood of San Francisco, bringing out the strong magic of childhood memory.
