Learning Module #2: Global Crisis

Learning Module #3: Disabling Analysis

Learning Module #3 has two learning objectives:

  1. The student will begin to understand how people become trapped within circumstances not of their own making. This can occur through culture or through institutions we take for granted. We explore how here.
  2. But disabling circumstances also occur on a larger, impersonal scale, transcending the private realm of our own lives. Here, economic globalization in particular must be examined. The student will comprehend how global dynamics can produce dysfunctional outcomes. See the second learning objective.

See the assignment for Learning Module #3.

Several web and wiki pages have been prepared for the disabling analysis:

  1. Professor Michael Edelstein's disabling analysis PowerPoint presentation is loaded on a World Sustainability Wiki page
  2. I have created a chart to assist in understanding Wolfgang Sachs, Fairness in a Fragile World: A Memo on Sustainability
  3. See Hayes Hypertext Presentation Packages: Framing the Disabling Analysis for context and background
  4. See Hayes Hypertext Presentation Packages: Economic Strategies for Sustainability
  5. Hayes Hypertext Presentation Packages: Economic Globalization
  6. Hayes Hypertext Presentation Packages: Strategic Sustainablity

Learning Module #4: Enabling Analysis
