YA'ARA (Shahak, 1986). OH S light purple (RHS 76C), veined and dotted darker; F yellow-orange (20C), dotted purple, heavier near small dark purple signal; purple beard. I. samariae X S.T. 72-170: (I. antilibanotica x I. camillae). 

ZACCHEUS (Hunt, 1981) OB/OB- An arilbredmedian from Knick Knack X ((I. sari x I. susiana) x Iberian Gem), with greyed lilac standards, yellow falls with maroon veining. Colloquially known as "Short Stuff", but actually named for the New Testament tax collector who was of short stature. (Luke 19: 1-10).

zemira.jpg (13592 bytes)ZEMIRA (Jonnye Rich, 1979). OB+ S very pale violet, faintly veined pale violet, yellow flush up midrib; light creamy tan styles and lighter style crests; F pale creamy tan, faintly veined darker, brownish black signal; bronze beard. Kerr K55-30 X Welcome Reward. 

ZERZURA (Hager, 1990). OGB S white, pale yellow styles; F white with just a hint of color when fresh, black signal; greyish yellow beard. Complex pedigree.

ZIV (Shahak, 1993). OH S. violet (RHS 85A) heavily dotted darker; F. red-purple (59B) heavily dotted darker, black-purple signal; dark purple beards. I. samariae X (I. mariae x I. hermona). 

ZWANENBURG (Denis, 1912). OB Introduced before there was even a registration system, when color codes were developed this was classified as an "S6L". The '76 CL described it as "Yellow-toned blend, light", although this overly-simple translation was later rescinded. Court of Iris said that: "This odd flower is almost olive-green and has small flecks of purple."  Lutescens aurea X I. susiana.
