"Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find."

"What would I have to do to join this church?"
This question or others similar, are often addressed to the pastors or members of St. James. There are 3 ways
in which adult individuals may be received into membership:
- By transfer of membership from another Lutheran congregation;
- By transfer of membership from another Christian congregation which is not Lutheran;
- By baptism and adult instruction for those who have not previously been a member of any church.
Those who would be joining from categories 2 or 3 above are required to attend two "Inquiry Sessions" to
prepare for membership. The Inquiry Sessions will provide opportunities for instruction as well as "question
and answer". Attendance is open to everyone, but, required only of those who have not held membership in
a Lutheran congregation.
We receive new members several times a year. Please contact
St. James for information on upcoming dates.
