The five themes are:

...a family
...that is observed and assisted by a mediator (or a team of mediators)
...who do this from a theoretical position and using models (with their corresponding techniques)
...being both the family and the mediators affected by the legal system in which the mediation takes place
...and the parties, the mediators and the legal system
are all pervaded by the social system to which they belong.
