8.3 Turning-point
We -all mankind and thus, all the ecosystem-
are not in a point whatsoever in history. We are not going through a stage
whatsoever, but -according to Capra- all mankind is going through one of
the most important moments of change in the history, similar to the appearance
of agriculture.
In his book "The
turning-point", Fritjof Capra talks about three transformations
that are determining for the crisis that mankind is going through.
-
the first one is: the slow and reluctant
but inevitable decline of patriarchy;
-
the second: the decrease in number
of fossil reserves;
-
the third: the paradigm shift, understood
as a deep change in the minds, concepts and values that make up a particular
view of reality (pages 30 and 31).
If this thinking is so, if we have, as
Carlos Sluzki says a "systemic faith" for all, not only the parties in
mediation, it affects us all. But even if we are, as Michel Foucault said,
subjected subjects, -as Enrique Pichon-Rivière said- we are not
only produced subjects but we can also be subjects producing a better world.
Mediation in family disputes is, I
think, a way of helping to bring about this change, since the family, no
matter its constellation, is the social cell par excellence and
the conveyor of values. Helping to create non-contested family contexts
is the major contribution that I can offer.
