We had read that the Sforza family that ruled Renaissance Milan was fierce and cruel. The ironwork at this window at a palace certainly reinforced that impression.
However, perhaps it is not so fierce as simply a love of intricate filigree
.That was the overall impression we had from the Cathedral.
We only stayed in Milan overnight while travelling to other cities,in part because the city is known as an industrial center. However, it is quite beautiful, as we saw from our hotel room.
