Quebrada Quintero (high path) - Details 1
Next, you'll find details about getting to Quebrada Quintero - high path.
Access is very simple and shares its first part with Sabas Nieves route. Anyway, it starts reaching Plaza Altamira. Options to get there follows.
Reaching Plaza Altamira:
By Metro: You should get down in Estación Altamira, located in Line 1. Once there, you have to look, in the middle of station, the exit called "Plaza Francia" (true name of Plaza Altamira, but very few know it). When you get to the top of stairways, you'll be at southernmost side of that square. Looking north you'll see and obelisk and, at background, Avila's silhouette.
By bus: Take one with a route that includes Francisco de Miranda Avenue. Ask driver to warn you when you get there. However, Plaza Altamira is easily recognizable because it is the only square with and obelisk. Minimum fare is Bs. 100, monday to friday, and Bs. 110 weekends and holidays.
By car: Do the same as bus case. There is an alternate route through Cota Mil (Boyacá Avenue) but I don't recommend it because, even though there is a parking lot, it is private.
When you get to Plaza Altamira, you have several ways to get to 10th Transversal, where start of track is located. For this explanation you'd better check Plaza Altamira's Map.
Getting to 10th Transversal:

- Walking: You should go up through San Juan Bosco Av. Looking north (facing El Avila), this is the avenue going down at your left (west of square - photo). It is a gentle slope of 9 blocks to get to 10th Transversal (9 blocks because 4th Transversal never cross this avenue).
If you left your house without taking your breakfast, 1/2 block from square you'll find, at left, a bakery. There are also some restaurants and fast food facilities in case you want to lunch when you get back. To get a view of Av. San Juan Bosco from 8th Transversal, click here.

- By bus: At east side (photo) of Plaza Altamira, at Luis Roche Avenue, you'll find the bus stop to Altamira Norte. The service is steady in the morning (averaging a bus each 7 minutes), but it is intermittent during afternoon. Current fare is Bs. 100 from monday to friday and Bs. 110 weekends and holidays.
Route is as follows: The bus goes up through Av. Luis Roche (north) until 5th Transversal, where turns left (west). It goes on and intersects Av. San Juan Bosco, turning right (north). When it gets to 8th Transversal it turns right again (east) and, a block later, left (north), taking 6th Avenida. One block more and turns again, this time to right (east). This is 9th Transversal and you must get down there.
You are almost there. Consult 10th Transversal map to get a picture.
- By car: Use the same route as bus, but when intersecting Av. San Juan Bosco keep it until it ends. Turn left there (10th Transversal) and park.
Regarding parking, there is not special place to do it, and there is no surveillance. Nevertheless, you'll see some "car watchers" that will take care of your car for about Bs. 200. It's up to you to accept that service.
You can recognize track start point because of a board from "La Electricidad de Caracas", apologizing for disturbances. The company is carrying out some construction works along the path. You can consult the "Sabas Nieves Project" page of this company, where there is additional information (in spanish).
