The Books

These books help greatly with understanding and becoming more familiar with the Magicks. All of these are currently in print and available from local bookstores and online sources.

Scott Cunnigham's 'Wicca'Scott Cunningham's 'Living Wicca'One of the primary authors in all of Wiccan practices is Scott Cunningham. Both are published by Llewellyn Publications.

Scott Cunningham's works encompass much of what this is all about. He presents his material in a way that is easy and enjoyable to follow and touches upon many different viewpoints. Other books of his include: The Magical Household (with David Harrington), Cunningham's Encyclopedia Of Magical Herbs, The Complete Book Of Incense, Oils & Brews, The Truth About Witchcraft Today, Earth Power and Magical Aromatherapy:The Power Of Scent. Magical Rites From The Crystal Well, by Ed Fitch is a charmingly informative collection of Pagan and Wiccan bits and pieces. He puts them together in such a way that is both practical and inspirational. Again, this one is as valuable to the beginner in all of us as well as the more 'advanced' Tender. His 'Rite Of Release' invocation is particularly touching and effective. Another Llewellyn Publication.

The Spiral Dance

Starhawk's The Spiral Dance is, well...absolutely incredible. Besides Scott Cunningham's 'Solitary' Series, this is a must. Starhawk writes about and presents the Goddess Relgion in a way that inspires to maximum overdrive. This is a terrific introduction to the broader practices of Wicca and the Tendings and Tappings and also serves you very well as time and experience goes on. The Spiral Dance will stay with you forever.

Marion Weinstein's Earth Magic:A Dianic Book Of Shadows is a straightforward handling of the more Earthbound Magicks. Wiccan in nature, she covers Forming Alignments, candles, Magickal Tools, Cord Magick and Moon Working with a remarkably clear intuition and understanding. This is written and presented in an almost workbook format and is very easy to follow.

The Complete Book Of Witchcraft

Raymond Buckland has put together a very practical and effective workbook for all of us with his Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft. Everything is laid out in precise steps that guide us from the very beginnings of both WitchCraft and Paganism to what we need to know about our workings with the Magicks. The histories, tools, ritual guidelines and many areas of divination and spellcastings are covered here in a way that is not only easy to follow, but vitally concentrated and fun as well. This one is another that you will use over and over again. A Llewellyn Publication.

Linda Goodman is a joy to read! She started us out with Sun Signs, a comprehensive and very understandable book dealing with astrology and some of its baser workings. Star Signs came later...a book that shows more of her personal slant on the things and people around us as well as a continuation of some astrological meanings. Through the years she has written many books, these two being the ones that keep us coming back for more. Whether you believe in astrology and its methodology or not, Linda Goodman has insight and is well worth our time.

Out of all the books having to do with the Magicks and its everyday applications to us and our Mother Earth, Pauline and Dan Campanelli's Wheel Of The Year:Living The Magical Life is perhaps the most useful. Activities and the meanings behind them for every month of the year are discussed here which are aimed for all of us. In order to keep our Tendings and Tappings flowing, it helps to have a concise guide to help us along the way. Pauline and Dan Campanelli have provided us with that guide. And a good read!
