Deicide
In Torment In Hell
Ominous tidings......Hell hath opened up again, releasing yet another ecstatic and meditative abomination to possess the mind and further darken the life-force, and pleasantly so.
The impressive cover, which in My opinion is the best yet, features a veritable fresco, that could actually be a part of a Satanic Cathedral, masterfully rendered by "The Serpent", which features some of the Deicide symbols, including 'Pentafixion' from "Legion", the impaled Trifixion from "Insineratehymn", and the Trifixion from "Once Upon The Cross". The nazarene is surrounded by rather classical depictions of demonic phantoms who mock and stab him gleefully; and on the other end of the cover, "Mary with the cherry" is strangled and fondled. At the top half, is what appears to be a skulled Satanic pope-like figure presenting the Trifixion. Really splendid artistry that would make for a nice addition to one's Ritual Chambre, bedroom, or Dining Room. I would like to see more from this artist.
The title song, "In Torment In Hell" features an introduction with an exchange between xian propagandist, alarmist, and businessman Bob Larson, taken from the radio show, and Glen Benton. Larson regails him with faerie-tale blindlight depictions of "heaven", to which Benton muses when asked 'Where will you be?" He answers "In Torment in Hell....." - and thus, the perfect introduction to the opus as a whole, as well as the song itself, completely in keeping with the Deicide militantly anti-xian framework. Most songs in this unleashing focuses on brutal speed, whereas 'Insineratehymn' was a bit more ponderous at times, more of a Power Metal bent.
There are strains of "Blame It On God" in "Christ Don't Care", and humorous painful groans in "Vengeance Is Mine", which mocks one's victims {sacrifices / enemies} as revenge is achieved.
The Lyricks focus more on pure emotion and rage. blasting ever heavier and stronger as the musick progresses, rather than the more philosophical slant in "Once Upon The Cross", "Serpents of The Light", & in the previous "Insineratehymn", but which is also a welcomed return to the likes of 'Legion' and 'Deicide'.
Deicide has fulfilled the 7 album contract with Roadrunner Records, and it is well appreciated. So the only place one can continue the blasphemous engorgement is on the official site @ deicide.tv; the next album is scheduled for release on Halloween of this year.
"In Torment In Hell" is highly recommended, as they all are, which appeals to the hateful, aggression, rage, anger, and destruction portion of the Dark Side of the psyche.
I N S I N E R A T E H Y M N

A new symbol adorns the cover of this powerful unleashing --- a variation on the number of The Beast --- well done --- seems like each number pierces the other, thus resembling inverse crosses as well.
I have always enjoyed Deicide --- some of the most brutal musick, yet graceful in its own way. Benton's voice is actually lucid through the normally undecipherable demonic growls.
Deicide sacrificed the nazarene once again, & audially slaughters the sheeple as well. This one is a bit more thought out, a bit more ponderous --- the lyrical poetry manages to stimulate psychological concerns. A steady evolution is readily apparent in the music, & in the lyrics. There is a better balance between the emotional response & the mental evocative introspection.
: Insineratehymn is intense, heavy, & can promote euphoric fits of morbid ecstacy!
Death shall come on swift wings to those who are weak of
heart, & listen to these abysmal abominations from the chaotic pit of darkness
& hate. Blasting louder is the insanity & possession evoked when listening.
Bubbling urges bubbling up within, then finally, the explosion of horriffic
proportions shooting up towards Heaven, sending the gates crashing in, with a
sea of amorphic images, spewing forth their centuries of wickedness. GOD IS
DEAD! Within each of us, is that SATANIC POWER to kill that bit of hypocritical
guilt & self-deceit, that those of the heavenly realm sought to eternally
implant. Each time the lyrics of this Death Metal penetrate the mind, the purer
one becomes, screaming forth wrath, rebellion, & vengence to the enslavers,
who hide behind the cross. DEICIDE is truly a catharsis, & serves to bring
about the daemon is each of us. The very name, DEICIDE, means "Death of God."
Glen Benton, who proudly exhibits an inverted cross burned into his forehead,
vomits forth blasphemous repugnancies that make the prophets turn in their
graves, preachers to be attacked by unseen assailants, & the holy angels to
shudder in fear.
The first, self-titled release, thrashes about Manson in LUNATIC OF GOD'S
CREATION, then on to SACRIFICIAL SUICIDE, where one is purged of the right
{wrong} hand influences, by "killing" oneself symbolically, & reborn in Satan's
fire, in undefiled wisdom.
OBLIVIOUS TO EVIL speaks of the Satanic philosophy of becoming One's own God, by realizing One's divinity, instead of the inferiority
complexes xianity engendered. DEAD BY DAWN is what happens to enemies of the
Satanic Empire, when they are terminated before first light. BLASPHERERION commands a death for a better rebirth in Power, just like the
phoenix who arises more resplendantly than before. Jesus is executed in
DEICIDE, & the Almighty Satanist takes His place in Authority, leading One's
own life by rational self-interest, pleasure, revenge, creativity, Imagination,
all the hallmarks of a god. CARNAGE IN THE TEMPLE OF THE DAMNED brings back the
memory of Jim Jones & the like, those hypochrists who led their flocks like
lemmings unto oblivion. The inevitable lesson is invariably, "Those who do not
remeber the past are doomed to repeat it." Ironically, the very same saying
hung above the xian cult leader's throne. MEPHISTOPHELES rends the soul of
Faust on that DAY OF DARKNESS when all Hell erupts loose. CRUCIFIXATION mocks
the pathetic xian who crawls upon slave knees to the symbol of flimsy, tortured
inferiority, & how they need their crucifixes as security blankets & crutches,
to support their miserable beaten shells. Instead of gathering strength on
One's own efforts & accomplishments, by the Power of creation & transformation
like the Satanist does.
LEGION
LEGION begins with the sounds of sheep in the wilderness, & the sound of a
demon feasting upon their lily-white carcasses. SATAN SPAWN, THE CACO-DAEMON
calls Dungeons & Dragons to mind, the spell to summon the said entity from
the manual thereof. We are the Satan-spawned, from the very loins of Lucifer
we have come to be, to populate the world with our own, & depopulate the
race of Adam. DEAD BUT DREAMING resurrects the Dark Daemongods from their
catatonia, by travelling thrpough the vortex-----the key is blood. REPENT TO
DIE rebukes attempts by religions of the blindlight to have One believe that
we are what they call "sinners", & thus, "confessing" our natural acts as being
a "bad thing"-----oh, for Satan's sake! FLESH WITHOUT SIN, WORLD WITHOUT END!
TRIFIXION reveals the Power of blasphemy, sacrilege, & heresy, by destroying
the very elements that keep one enslaved-----those symbols of mental incarceration
are broken & smashed in a cathartic departure from spiritual engrams. SATANIC
LIBERATION! BEHEAD THE PROPHET {No Lord Shall Live}, passing through time to
destroy the one who came to bestow subserviance & "salvation", but instead,
has become lax & forgetful, & allowed his servants to torture thousands
throughout the ages. HOLY DECEPTION speaks of the corruption, hypocrisy, &
empty promises of the xian church, & the slick tricks used to dupe the lost
souls, to suck them dry of ambition, & render them zombified, while the clergy
cash in. IN HELL I BURN is the metaphoric cleansing of the soul, in order to
go through life pure & vital. REVOCATE THE AGITATOR is the predator's perogative,
to be fulfilled by the thrill of the hunt, & the thrill of the kill.
AMON: FEASTING RHE BEAST is Deicide before Deicide. It is much rawer material
than the first, more primal, more audially inspiring to let loose the Satanimal.........
It has been said, that music soothes the soul of the savage beast, but this
musick brings it out! After all, "there is a beast in man that should be EXERCISED,
not EXORCISED" {Anton LaVey}. One notable track that is particularly monsterous
is the original version of SACRIFICIAL SUICIDE, not to mention the intro, FEASTING
THE BEAST, rumored to be the sounds of an actual murder.........
Musick, like most everything else, should be seen in symbolisms & deeper meanings,
for the unworthy redundantly excarnate themselves from this greatest of all
worlds ----- SATAN'S BLACK EARTH.

ONCE UPON THE CROSS
Call the Coroner! Jesus is dead! A bloody disembowelled
cadavre 'neath a white sheet.
The necro-velocity pounds & races into the ears, & like a sacrificial dagger,
through the flesh, & into the soul. Let it wash over you like a river of living
death. Become possessed by the infernal sounds. Become the personafication
of Satan. Let thine senses be taken over, so as to commit Satan's will {your
own, by proxy}, for one's mutual gratification.
It's about time that the nazarene was executed! The bastard should never have
been born, much less spread his lies, guilt, & confusion! Rejoice! For the
snivling, cowardly tyrant has been dethroned!
HAIL SATAN!
Serpents of The Light

The title speaks of what I prefer to as "White Wolves", that is, xoids who subject themselves & others under the slave religion of xianity. They prey on their won, & seekothers tobecome likeas they, veritably, "xian vampires". Sacraments of blood & flesh, & all.
In this, "Serpents of The Light", Glen Benton approaches the whole blindlight problem on a more intellectual level --- the more Satanic arttitude to doubt, question, & evolve, rather than being spoonfed & only merely playing an idiotological tennis match. A true Satanist is more likened the referee.
'Serpents of The Light' is a tyrade against xoid oppression on the mind & flesh. Sick & tired of being "lorded" over.
Of particular remarkability, is "Bastard of Christ", "Blame It On God" {for a change!}, "Slave To The Cross" {xoids with delusions of "freedom", i.e., 'do whatever you want, as long as its done how I say!'}, "Creatures of Habit" {very prolecaustical}, & "Father Baker's" {about xian child abuse}. The rest of the deadly cantibles move along at blacklight speed, & are also in the vein of social commentary, in that aggresively-paced & sacriligeous necrowarp.
The artwork {by Nizin R. Lopez} is in sort of a "day of the dead" style, which features the Nazarene with a fleshmask on, & serpantine tongue forking out towards a decrepid bible covered in roaches, & being held by hands of prayer. This says "the cloning & brainwashing of the world" to Me. A great effect.
"Serpents of The Light" shows the sinister "evilution" of this Powerful Death Metal band, & can induce a sense of brutal bliss.
The next unleashing is due any time now, which I expect will be more introspective still.....
The Black Earth
Event: Deicide. / Location: The Whiskey A-Go-Go, Hollywood, CA.
I arrived at The Whiskey at about 7:30 pm, when the first band, "Noctuary" {strangely enough} was playing their last couple of songs. From what I recall, they were pretty-damned good, in a Dark Funeral / Emperor sort of way.
Three more bands played, but were rather rudimentary in their musical & theatrical content.
Now, I Am not {ab?}normally accustomed to, nor desirous of, cramming together in a clusterfuck of slithering, slimey, & wormlike proles, so I decided to take a place nearest the door, taking advantage of the cool night air whenever possible. I was determined to see Deicide live at least once --- so there I was, practically head & shoulders above the sweating masses therein. Plus, this also assured Me a first way out if a fire erupted inside.
During the bands' performances, there were some small, & rather tame 'moshpits', & a few 'rivetheads' by the foot of the stage. So there I was, relatively comfortable, overseeing the human pulp before Me.
Then all of a sudden, Eric & Brian Hoffman appeared onstage, readying themselves for the inevitable sonic onslaught they were to unleash upon the audience. The yells from fans began. Then Steve Asheim materialized, with more roars of worship growing in the smoke-filled air. After the standard tuning of instruments, or "wardrums" & "axes", as it were, there appeared Glen Benton, with that inverted cross now permanently scarred on his forehead, who looked like he just got out of a barber shop, with neatly trimmed hair, still long, mind you, but cut just below the shoulders.
Anyhow, as soon as Deicide took the stage, the atmosphere remarkably changed. From an air of judgementalism, to that of awe & worship. As soon as they started the first song, the place turned from a lollygagging troop standing about observing, to one of active participation --- whether anyone liked it or not! As soon as the demonic frenzy blasted the air, the place transformed into one large cauldron. Bodies twisted & churned, crushing the smaller, & perhaps shocking those poseur wannabe mama's boys & girls looking to be bad bunnies.
I saw some grimace in pain here & there, & I found Myself smirking at their torment, as a harsh & draconian lesson through hard experience was now embracing them ever so tightly.
In all, Deicide played for a little over an hour, & were My ears ringing! When spending an evening at an event where decibal levels reach to about 120, earplugs are recommended, so as to not damage your eardrums, thus, one's hearing {Jay Jay French take note!}. The ones available today allow for a full auditory experience, without the ringing afterwards.
Anyhow, I saw Deicide live at last, & found Myself vocalizing the lyrics, but I must say, unfortunately, the live act lacked. Where was the Deicide who dowsed themselves in pig's blood? I enjoy listening to Deicide quite often, but I went to see a show. But for what I saw & experienced, apart from seeing them live, I would rather have remained in My Noctuary Chambre with the video. By the way, the show WAS taped.....
I recommend they retain some pyrotechnics & blasphemous acts of debauchery & sacrilege.
