Ghosts of ratties past...


Basil

a.k.a. Basil the Rat, right, Bazza or Baz, inspired by that episode of 'Forlty Towers'. He were born in late May 1995 and died from the chuffin' dreaded Respiratory Disease in mid-August 1997. A topaz 'ooded, right, he were the bleedin' Rat Palace original and a right star of a rat. His favourite pastime were stickin' 'is nose up us human's nostrils and fishin' 'round for tasty snacks - wot a lad! Honest guv!


Frankie

a.k.a. Frankie Doll's 'Ouse after one of the bloomin' white mice that run the Earff in 'The Hitch-Hiker's Guide ter the Galaxy' (he 'ave a looked like a wee white doll's 'ouse wen 'e came ter the bleedin' Rat Palace, in case yer were wonderin') or Psycho Frankie of Old London Tahn becuase 'e were a bit of a nutter. He were born in mid-August 1995 and died from a stroke on 5 February 1998. Frankie were a snubby-nosed 'imalayan and 'ad difficulties settlin' wiv uvver rats, right? He always gave Basil an 'ard time, even fough 'e were sposed ter be 'is china, but we still miss the miserable ole toerat.


Alfie

This was bloomin' well Alfie, like. 'E were born in late May 1997. 'E was bloomin' well a Siamese rat and got second prize in the Siamese class at a rat show in 1997. 'E was bleedin' well also known as Alfie Alpha Rat because 'e were bloody well the bleedin' boss in the Rat Palace and 'e 'ad ter keep it tidy because Max and Eric were such slobs and, as for George, well.... We was always messin' up the bed and 'idin' bread in it, right, which makes it all right untidy. Accordin' to alfie, like, we ain't got no idea about 'ouse-keepin' at all nor personal 'ygiene because we never wash our tails, unlike 'im. The bloomin' second picture is 'im doin' wot 'e likes Mae West - 'avin' a good ole scrotch! Blimey!


Max

And this was Max! Blimey! 'E were born in late May 1997 too and was a right 'andsome black Berkshire boy, like. 'E popped 'is clogs from old age, livin' to the ripe age of 31 months. 'Is full name was Sir Maximillian, Knight of the Rat Realm, because 'e 'ad long boots and gauntlets, a big cross on 'is tummy and a goatee beard and moustache, right, and 'e liked ter crusade 'round the livin' room routin' the bleedin' infidels from the bookshelves. Mum called 'im Mad Max because 'e was, right, but mostly 'e copped bein' called Daddy Max because 'e was bleedin' well the bloomin' farver of 11 babies. Yer can spot some of them by clickin' 'ere and there's pictures of 'is son, right, George, right, below. Us 'uman 'as written a story all about 'is romance wiv George's Mum, Effelyn, right, we're ashamed ter say. There are incriminatin' photos too! Struth! 'E were Pet of the bloomin' Day on Sunday 18 October 1998, right? Spot 'is entry!


Eric

This was bleedin' well Eric. 'Is bruvver, Errol, were gonna be livin' 'ere instead of 'im but a ravver 'orrible fin' 'appened ter him. They were bowf born on 3 February 1998. 'E used ter be called Eric Concorde-Nose and if yer click here, right, yer'll spot why! Honest guv! 'E was also called Gay 'Airdresser Rat and we'll leave it ter yer imaginations as ter why, like. 'Is proper name is Blackstaff Eric because, right, unlike them plebs Alfie and Max, 'e 'ad a pedigree, right. And 'e got two Firsts in rat shows AND a luvverly rosette for bein' Mae West Black-eyed White. Cor blimey guv! Rat Palace Pink sets off 'is ears a treat, don't yer fink?

George

The first picture is me wen I were only 10 days old. Weren't I cute, init? Antonia finks that I'm the cutest rat she's ever bred at Blackstaff Rats. Me proper name is Blackstaff George and I were born on 23 April 1998, which is St George's Day in England. Max is me Dad and me Mum is Effelyn. Yer can read about the bloomin' night that me and me bruvvers and sisters were conceived here. Yer can spot a picture of some of me special bruvvers and sisters here, right? Now I live wiv me Dad in the chuffin' Rat Palace and I'm bleedin' well a bit bigger than I were in the bleedin' first picture! Right! I 'aven't been ter a show yet but, wen I do, I will go in the pet class because I'm bloomin' well not right a Berkshire like Dad or a badger like Mum, but somewhere in between, init?
