Afterthoughts
Hmm... afterthoughts? I thought the trip was a pretty good one, though short. Having never sat on a train before, the 12-hour trip to Penang and then back was a good ordeal... erm... I mean experience... and I did get to eat some pretty good stuff on the train (when the hawkers came on board to sell their curry puffs and packets of nasi lemak).

I'll have Yifang to thank for introducing us to Pictionary (thank you for trudging it all the way to Penang too).

I was also pretty amazed at how little (and efficiently) someone can pack for a trip. Especially when I looked at the size of my backpack (seemed like a mammoth beside Yifang's and Yaoshan's bags).

Even now, I can still remember the time we rushed from the Malaysian custom checkpoint to the KL train station... the escalating panic, the frenzied rush and then... the silent cursing ("What... the train's delayed for twenty minutes?! Should not have needed to panic then...").

Of course, not all things that I can remember were necessary good. Who needs to remember the plots of the in-house movies screened (like the one with some greedy tussle in the desert about some Egyptian artefacts... hmm... but the one about the plot to assasinate Hilter was okay lah...) :)

Everything about Penang was pretty good. The walking around on our own, the food, the people, the shopping (the shopping?!), the sight-seeing, the bus-rides, the night we played Pictionary, the food (have I said that already?) :)

Well... there may be a regret... maybe two- first,we should have tried that hang-gliding at Batu Ferringhi beach... then we would have come back with a hair-raising experience. Well... next time (maybe).

The second? We'll make our next trip longer (and play more Pictionary!) :)

That's all folks. Don't forget to write. Or drop me a line.
