Sunday

Breakfast     I guess we all woke up with hungry stomachs that day- so we all went in search of breakfast. Finding a local church was then the main agenda in the morning.

Along the way (Jalan Kebun Bunga) to the main road, we made phone-calls home, of course. Yingyi also made phone-calls to her friends in Penang to say hi.

(2nd from right) Xinghao (very hungry): Hello, I'll like to order a pizza...

Afterward, we did find breakfast, after trekking along this long road called Jalan Gotlieb... at a coffeeshop.

"Coffeeshop"
-
Now "coffeeshop" in the Asian, or Southeast Asian context refers to an eating place, like a cafe- with food at cheaper prices. A typical coffeeshop would comprise of: slow-twirling squeaky ceiling fans, white-tiled walls, marbled-finished table (with a blue-tint metal cigarette ash container) complemented by solid-looking wooden chairs, and of course your stalls emitting mysterious brews, smells and oily smoke).

The coffeeshop had only one or two stalls, but it had great food. Breakfast comprised of "chee cheong fun" and iced milo/coffee... and then laksa. Soon after we sat down, we noticed that other people started coming in too. Some tables away, we spotted two young boys with Bibles. Xinghao approached them, asking if they knew when the local church was- and they did.
