Super Mario Bros. For the GBC
I couldn't help being exited when I heard the news that Nintendo was going to make Super Mario Bros. #1 for the GBC. I was very surprised howver, when I heard that some people are not happy with this. The reason? Because they feel that Nintendo should have added something extra to the game. This all brings us back to an important question! There are people who don't want Nintendo to stop making the old GameBoys or GameBoy pockets and they wish the there will continue to be new games! I knew that with the new technoligy found in the GameBoy Colr there would no longer be a need for it. As much as I hated to see my old classic yellow GameBoy go in a GBC trade in, when I turnded on my GBC in the car... Yellow GameBoy who? Don't believe me? see my GameBoy Color review on the GBC page. But PEOPLE! Think about it, would you rather be playing the old GameBoy or the GBC? The color and advanaced graphic are great! With this new technoligy Nintendo now has the power to put a full size NES game onto the GBC. Super Mario is my favorite all time game. True, the graphics sure aren't the best but it's stil fun. I loved Super Mario All Starrs but it still wasn't the same. Sure it had the same game but the feel was differant! I like the real article. No matter how much I play Super Mario All Starrs I still like a good old game of Mario on the NES. The power to play this kind of game on the GameBoy will be really great!

Here's something else to think about if you're one of those people who don't think Nintendo should realese this game without anything extra and because you're sick and tirierd of old rehashes. First of all, I think this game has to be the rehash to end all rehashes. Secondly, if Nintendo took the time to enhance the game, that would leave them less time to make the new games so mamy people have been whining for! Please e-mail me with your thoughts on the matter and they will be posted in the news section! I want to hear from you why this isn't such a good thing. Plus I think that Nintendo will most likely give us the rest uf the series if people buy this one.

Ladies and the Tramp (Mario?)
Is it just me or hasn't mario had a lot of differant girl friends. As if it wasn't strange enough that Mario never married that Toadstool person after knowing her since 1984, isn't it kind of strange that Nintendo keeps changing her name while seemingly passing her off as the same person? What about in the Game & Watch days with Donkey Kong? Marios Girl friend was Pauline! The they changed her agian for the Super Mario Bros. series! While all of the was going on, along caome 1989 and they change her name to Daisy for Super Marion land. What is going on! Is this Daisy the same woman as before? Is her name now Daisy Toadstool. It get confuesing. Not that I'm mad about any of this but I can't seem to think of it as anything but funny! Just when I thought that Nintendo had finished their life of name changing in the '80s, you could just imagine my surprise when I found out that along with the N64 we were gett Peach. I think that Peach is just a nickname for the ever popular Princess Toadstool (aka Daisy) but didn't Nintendo see that they've gone to far with this stuff? Now that the super marion brothers series is coming for GameBoy we will once again go back to princess toadstoll, this time on GB. It's been strange but we have to thank Nintendo for making our lives interesting throught the GameBoy!

Why do we like GameBoy?
When was the first time you held a GameBoy? Since you can't answer that righ now and I'm not making a new poll about it I'll have to talk about my first taste of GameBoy for a minute:) It all started when my cousin brought it over to my house back in 1991. I was already a NES fan a I had heard about GameBoy, now I was about to wittness it's power! While all of the adults complained about how you can't see anthing I took hold of it and started playing Super Mario Land. To this day it's one of my favorites! Okay, I have to addmit, I had to go outside to play because the indoor lighting was poor, but hey! At least I was willing to give it a chance. Well I think I got to play that GameBoy one Time after that but my next Taste really didn't happen until 1993. Then is when I got to play Kirbys Dreamland. That's enough about me now. The ral question is, why did I like it so much? Why did I stay up at night thinking about GameBoy until I got my very own? Why did you get game boy? Why waste your time with a little B&W (more like green & white in those days) screen that brurrs with motion and can hardly be seen under slightly less than perfect light conditions? This is something that has always puzzled me and I'm sure it does you. I guess it's because the whole thing was fun. It was cool to have the ability to play Game like you'd play in your NES in you hand. That reminds me of one of my favorite GB sayings, "Power in the palm of you hand." That's just what it was too, power! All of this coupled with the convience of taking your GameBoy on trips, to the Docter's office or any place you can think of. That's why we put up with that little green screen machine. If you have another reason(s) why we like GameBoy please
e-mail me so I can post it!

Will Color Secure Sales and Quality For GBC?
There's no doubt about it. GBC is a really cool idea. What GameBoy fan wouldn't want to have the best things about Gameboy in color? The real question is however, Does this make GameBoy invinceble? That's a good question. No matter where you go on the web people are asking just that. I've read alot of editorials about this and decided to address the issue myself. In the past GB has been able to overcome all odds. It's amazing, when you think about it, that Nintendo was able to enter a dead portable market and completly take over! Even though the first GameBoy wasn't in color, it was a whole new idea! Now you can take the power of an NES, minus the color, and play it anywhere you go! Aside from this, though, it's even more amazing that GB was able to over come the fierce competion coming from Seag only one year after it's release. Not to mention things that came in years later like attari's linx and Sega's Nomad, which you have to admit is a pretty cool idea. Yet after all of that, our little green screen machine came through. Why? From what I gather, the GameBoy's success has been coming from the great play control and the quality of it's games. Yeah, maybe Game Gear had some good graphics, but who cares about graphics when you can have a truly fun game that really feels good in your hands. All of this information is leading up to what the new GBC is going to have to go up against today. What am I talking about? How about the new Neo Geo Pocket? While the current model is still in gray-scale it's 16 mega-bits! And don't cloud you minds with that invicebility stuff. GameBoy, a small console with a mere four shades of grey was able to over come even a 16 bit system like nomad. Why can't a 16 bit eight shade system over come an eight bit color system? It once again, all comes down to the game play. That's not all, Neo Geo may be releasing a color version of it's console if the first one sells well. There is no doubt in my mind that the Game Boy can overcome it if they continue to provide us with top class games! It will be hard for the Neo Geo to overtake a system that has a 10 year old following. Not to mention GBs 1000+ library opf Game titles. All we can do is hope and wait that Nintendo and it's partners won't get to cocky as Sega did and fall victom to the game quality grim reeper. So far the new releases look pretty good and I'm looking forward to playing some of these games. By Anthony
