This October Asahi Newspaper reported the number of TV-Tokyo's new anime titles as "Anime Bubble."
Asahi Newspaper showed "Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou" as an example of Anime Bubble.
Anime Bubble means a lot of anime titles with very low rating are broadcast in Japan.

Sponsors look for another popular title.
As you know, "Pocket Monsters" formed a 400,000 million yen scale market. "EVA" influenced the society all over the world. The two titles were broadcast by TV-Tokyo.

Ms Noriko Kobayashi from TV-Tokyo and Mr. Toshimichi Outsuki form King Records formerly produced EVA. They have looked for another popular title.
At last, they found it.
Great director Hideaki Anno made his new title "Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou."
J.C.Staff and GAiNAX made his work as animation.

As you know, J.C.Staff made "Utena." Hideaki Anno works for GAiNAX.

Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou is a title of serial cartoon for girls on "LaLa" published by Hakusensha.
Hakusensha is a famous publisher in Japan. It maily publishes comic magazines and comic books. Its magazine titles are "Hana To Yume (Flower and Dream)", "LaLa" and "Young Animal." Hana To Yume and LaLa is for little girls. On the other hand, Young Animal is for male adults.

As you know, "Hana To Yume" is famous for "Glass No Kamen." "LaLa" is famous for "Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou (His and Her Matters)." "Young Animal" is famous for "Momoiro Sisters (Pink sisters)."

As you know, Glass No Kamen was broadcast by TV-Asahi (ANB) in 1998 as performance films.
Momoiro Sisters were broadcast by TBS (Tokyo) in September 1998 as animation.
This time Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou was broadcast by TV-Tokyo in October 1998 as animation.

Hakusensha still has a lot of popular cartoon titles. This time it made a commercial film of "LaLa." As you know, Kodansha has broadcast a commercial film of "Nakayoshi" in "Magic Knight Rayearth" and "Cyber Team in Akihabara." Shueisha has broadcast a commercial film of "Ribbon" in "Kodomo No Omocha" and "Gokinjo Monogatari."

However Hakusensha has not promoted "LaLa" on TV yet.
Perhaps Hakusensha thinks LaLa will get popular because Anno is very much popular.
In fact, Hakusensha published an extra issue of LaLa for "Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou" in September 1998. In the extra issue, Hakusensha promoted the Anno's new title.
Several toy makers are interested in the new title.
A dog "Pero-pero" as a pet of Miyazawa Family appeared in the title.
Stuffed dogs after "Pero-Pero" will be sold soon.

I am a fan of Tamami Momose drawing "Momoiro Sisters." So I obtain comic magazine "Young Animal" to see Momo-sis. Young Animal is for male adults. But Hakusensha promotes "LaLa" in the magazine.

Kareshi Kanojo No Jijou is called "Kare-Kano." Ms Masami Tsuda draws the original cartoon. The title has not ended yet. Five volumes are already published.
Masami Tsuda's style is like Doujinshi comic book. She is good at expressing her character's inside.
As you know, Hideaki Anno has expressed his own inside, say, his Shinji Ikari.
Hideaki Anno tried to express high school student insides.

Asahi Newspaper publishes a weekly magazine "AERA." AERA 08/31/1998 issue dealt with an interview with Hideaki Anno.
As you know, he is 180 cm tall. He is a kind of giant.
He always fears something. But he himself is a kind of fear.

He was born in 1960 in Ube city. In his childhood, Ube city has shipyards. His proto-landscape is like such a shipyard.
His father Takuya Anno lost his left leg like Touji Suzuhara.
He is a vegetarian.
He said, "I cannot break my own heart shell. However I think I can enlarge it because I completed EVA."
He is shy in fact.

In his new title, he uses performance films and printing types.
Formerly I introduced here Yoshitaka Fujimoto's works, say, Nuku-nuku.
This time Anno used a lot of letters.
He used them to express characters' inside and high school life.

In Act 1.0 "Her Matters (Kanojo No Jijou)," the heroine of the story appeared in front of us.
She is a vain person. She calls herself "King of Vanity."
She was lifted up by an open elevater like a EVA.
Her young 37-year-old father Hiroyuki (CV = Takeshi Kusao) and 35-year-old mother Miyako (CV = Yuka Koyama) were disgusted.
Her name is Yukino Miyazawa (CV = Atsuko Enomoto). This time Anno used amateur voice actors to express high school life.
She is 15 years old. She entered Kanagawa Prefectural Hokuei Senior High School this April.
It is located at Kawasaki City near Musashi-Kosugi station of JR Nanbu Line.
She wanted to be at the head of the entrance examination. But she could not do so. Mr. Souichirou Arima (CV = Chihiro Suzuki) was the head.
She was much shocked.
Arima was a sportsman and handsome boy. He is very kind for all girls.
Yukino Miyazawa regarded him as her rival. She studied harder and harder.
At last, she won the head of the first midterm examination of the school.
What? He said to her, "I love you."
He is an only child at Arima Family which manages a large hospital.
She was ashamed.
But she forget him.
A Sunday, he came to her house. Her younger sisters Tsukino (CV = Yuki Watanabe) and Kano (CV = Maria Yamamoto) had been to Movie theater. She was unwatchful. She was regarded as a beautiful girl. Then she was a plain woman. Plain woman Yukino Miyazawa kicked Handsome Souichirou Arima.

The first act scenario was written by Hideaki Anno.

What? The preview was not anime but a real performance film.
Many Anno fans were excited, of course. We Japanese are looking forward to waiting for the next act.
