Episode 40
~All screen captures are made from my FY Chinese subtitled collection. I tend to pick the frames without the subtitles, but some still have them. For those, I use the translation of the subtitles for the caption.~

00) Episode 40: Itsuwari no Koi (False Love)
01) Amiboshi is still trapped as Tomo lures Miaka into his shin's illusions.
02) Amiboshi realizes Tomo is putting all his concentration on the shin
03) "This is a good chance to escape"
04) Amiboshi tries to break free from Tomo's illusion- "Wake up, Amiboshi!"
05) Breaking his fingers is a painful way to do it, however...
06) Amiboshi's flute interferes with Tomo's illusions and saves Miaka
07) Tomo realizes too late what had happened- "Amiboshi!"
09) ...who ignores him and goes to Miaka
10) Amiboshi tries to wake Miaka
11) Tomo demands Amiboshi to get out of the way
12) Amiboshi refuses, so Tomo bombards him with rocks
14) ...and gets up
15) Amiboshi walks toward Miaka- "Miaka, I will protect you."
16) Amiboshi reaches the unconscious Miaka
17) Tomo attacks with an explosion of fire
18) Flame engulfed rocks fly toward Amiboshi and Miaka
19) This is why you don't want to get on Amiboshi's bad side
20) Amiboshi concentrates on playing the flute
21) Amiboshi projects a shield around Miaka, Tama-neko, and himself.
22) "If I can..."
23) "I wish I was born a Suzaku shichiseishi"
24) Tomo uses his power to create multiple illusions
26) Facing the illusions and not knowing which one is the real Tomo...
27) A defenseless Amiboshi suffers under Tomo's onslaught.
28) Amiboshi falls to the ground.
29) As Tomo prepares to kill him, Amiboshi can only grimace- "You..."
30) Something impales Tomo's body, causing Amiboshi to look for the source.
31) Hidden behind shadows, Suboshi appears!
32) An angered Suboshi is even more dangerous- "Don't you dare hurt my aniki!"
34) Suboshi lifts his ryuuseisui- "Leave my aniki alone!"
35) ...and fires. (which eventually kills Tomo)
36) Suboshi rushes to Amiboshi's side.
37) Suboshi comforts Amiboshi and asks why Amiboshi never goes back to him
38) Amiboshi tells Suboshi about the village he had stayed...
39) ...and hands Suboshi the pouch of bohkyaku soup.
40) Miaka wakes to see Suboshi with the soup- "Suboshi!"
41) Suboshi takes a drink from the pouch...
43) Suboshi leans over to Amiboshi...
44) ...and to Amiboshi's surprise...
45) ...kisses him.
46) A closer shot of the above scene.
47) A stunned Amiboshi can only stare at Suboshi...
48) ...as Suboshi forces him to drink the soup. (what else did you think that kiss was for? =P)
49) With tears in his eyes, Suboshi apologizes to Amiboshi.
50) Amiboshi is shocked as Suboshi confesses the love he feels for Yui-sama.
51) Amiboshi falls unconscious as the soup's power takes over.
52) Suboshi gently lays Amiboshi on the ground.
53) At Miaka's exclamation, Suboshi looks up...
56) Suboshi grabs hold of Miaka.
57) Suboshi stops Miaka's attempt to jump off the cliff- "I won't let you die that easily."
58) Suboshi prepares to destroy Miaka the same way the other men destroyed Yui.
59) Miaka can only screams for Tamahome as Suboshi holds her.
