Kenshin Himura A wanderer and reformed assassin, now he fights to protect the innocent. Formerly known as Hitokiri Battosai. He wields a katana, named "sakabatou", that is sharpened only on the back side of the blade so that he can fight without killing. He is 28 years old with red hair and an 'X' shaped scar on his face. He is a master of the sword, but is easily confused by women. He respects those who respect themselves and teaches those who don't how important they are. His trademark word is "Oro". Kaoru Kamiya She is the owner of the Kamiya kendo dojo, having inherited it from her father. She is 17 years old, and very cute. She tends to get in over her head trying to help others and requires Kenshin to bail her out. Definitely not famous for her cooking. She does NOT get along with Yahiko, and spends a lot of time chasing him around with a shinai (bamboo sword) seeking vengeance. Yahiko Miyoujin He used to be a pickpocket boy working for a local yakuza, until he tried to steal Kenshin's wallet. Now he's a student at the Kamiya dojo, and wants to learn to be strong like Kenshin. At the young age of 10, he is still getting in trouble at every turn, luckily he has Kenshin to bail him out. When not training, he spends time along with Megumi teasing Kaoru. Sanosuke Sagara Unbelievably strong, now a resident of the Kamiya dojo. Initially, he wielded an enormous sword called "Zanbatou", now he uses his hands. He is 19 and is still learning from the experiences he has from being the friend of Kenshin. He used to work as a mercenary, and was manipulated by the Hiruma brothers into fighting Kenshin. Megumi Takani Very strong-willed, used to work for Kanryu making cheap opium. Thanks to Kenshin and the rest of the K & K Family she now works as a doctor. Helping those with sickness, drug problems, and injuries. She lives seperate from the rest of the gang, but stop by every once in a while. She enjoys teasing Kaoru almost as much as Yahiko. Ayame Ayame is Suzume's little sister, a sweet little kid who loves following 'Ken-niichan' around. Note: neither Ayame nor Suzume were present in the RK manga. Dr. Gensai A wise old man, he is a retired doctor, who took care of Kaoru when her parents died. He is the grandfather of the two little girls, Ayame & Suzume. Is always around to give good advice and a historical perspective on things.
