![]() The National Parks and Wildlife Service aims to conserve examples of the original natural landscape of Fleurieu Peninsula capable of sustaining all of their wildlife species. A Self Guided Historic Walk of Goolwa. Visitors can undertake the complete or a shortened version of this tour. The complete walk will take about one and a half hours and starts from Signal Point where the tour guide is available. A map and sketches of some of the historic buildings are provided and there are a number of interpretive panels around the walk giving additional information. Ngurunderi (Narunderi) Walking and Bike Trail This
trail joins the Bluff, Victor Harbor and Laffin Point Goolwa. Hindmarsh Island and the Coorong Linked by a free, sedate, 24 hour car-ferry, which accepts pedestrians and cyclists, both Hindmarsh Island and the Coorong have a worldwide reputation for the bird watching opportunities.
Lion Park Trail - in the Lions Park picnic area at Currency Creek, on the Goolwa to Strathalbyn Road, 6 kms north of Goolwa. The trail follows the Creek under the railway viaduct ending at a small but picturesque waterfall. The two kms return walk features an Aboriginal canoe tree, tall River Red Gums, an old mine, and a steep stairway leading up to the Currency Creek cemetery, where a number of Murray River paddle-steamer captains were buried. Heyson Trail - is South Australia's
premier walk and starts at Cape
Jervis, on the southern tip of the Fleurieu. This trail passes through
Deep
Creek conservation park on its 1500 kms
journey north, to finish in the Flinders Ranges. The Heysen Trail
is a 1500 km walking trail that extends from Parachilna Gorge, in the Flinders
Ranges, to Cape Jervis, on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The
trail passes through the most scenic parts of the state including national
parks, state forests and world The Trail has been designed to cater for both the serious backpacker and day walker. There are numerous huts, hostels, home and farm stays along the way for those who have no wish to carry heavy backpacks. The Heyson Trail is divided into 15 sections with a detailed map available for each section. and a series of brochures are available that identify a range of safety and planning issues which will assist trail users in organising their walk. Deep Creek Waterfall Trail

best walked during spring (Sept - Nov) when the abundant wildflowers are
in bloom. It passes through tall stringybark forests and into stunted tea
tree and yaccas before arriving at Deep Creek waterfall which flows throughout
most of the year. It's suggested you allow two hours for this 3.5 kms walk
a picking up the trail from the
Trig
Camping ground.
Tjibruke Walking Trail.
Fleuriueu Golf Golf is traditionally a winter game, but more players are choosing to play through summer (Dec-March), particularly on the many public courses on the Fleurieu Peninsula and in the Adelaide Hills regions. The Tom Roberts Horse Trail The Tom Roberts Horse Trail is a network of riding trails on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The first section of the Tom Roberts Trail was opened by Tom's widow, Mrs Pat Roberts, in June 1993, at the Blackwood Hill Reserve. Two sections of the trail have been established in the Mount Lofty Ranges.
In the south it ranges through Belair National Park and Cherry Gardens
to Kuitpo National Forest, whilst in the north the trail is established
near Gumeracha, Kersbrook and the Mount Crawford Forest.
