This site was opened on January 20, 2002. That time there were just a few websites on current Russian license plates but the information they contained was either incomplete or so much dispersed among separate sites that one could not make a clear understanding of what the Russian plates are about. That is why this site was established. I think that it contains most of the general information on the current Russian license plates and, in some cases, goes into detail on them. If you need more information on specific things, please go to the "Links" section - you may find a good source there. If not, please send me a letter at nomer@pisem.net and I will try to answer your question as soon as possible.
Except this website, I am also a license plate collector since 1995. In 2004 I entered the "Europlate", the European Registration Plate Collector Association, and was assigned #902. So, if you have any questions or suggestions on Russian (or other) license plates, please let me know at nomer@pisem.net.
