Remus Lupin...scared of the moon...*

REMUS LUPIN

Remus Lupin was a good friend of Harry Potter’s father, James. They, along with Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew, were the best of friends throughout their seven years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Before attending Hogwarts, however, Lupin suffered the bite of a werewolf, thus making him become one by the light of the full moon. He worked hard to try and keep this fact from his closest comrades, but eventually they figured it out. They didn’t abandon the boy, they decided to work hard at becoming Animagi, so that when Remus transformed, they could join him. They had many misadventures when they finally became Animagi, and they also created “The Marauder’s Map”, a very ingenious map of Hogwarts.

After Hogwarts, Lupin became an active member in the Order of the Phoenix. After the downfall of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, nothing is known about the whereabouts of Remus Lupin, or what he was doing through these years. In Harry Potter’s third year, Lupin took up the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. He became instant friends with Harry, giving him Patronus lessons so that Harry could repel the Dementors.

When Sirius revealed that he had been framed for selling out Lily and James to Voldemort by Peter, Lupin believed him, and tried to kill Peter along with Sirius. However, Harry stopped them, saying that he didn’t think his father would want them to become murderers because of Peter. As they were returning to Hogwarts with Peter, Lupin was caught in the moonlight, and he began to transform, allowing Peter to escape, returning to his master, Voldemort. In the summer between Harry’s fourth and fifth year, it was imperative that the Order of the Phoenix be reinstated, because of the return of You-Know-Who. Lupin was again a member, and he helped fetch Harry from the Dursley’s towards the beginning of Harry’s fifth year. He also went with Dumbledore and other members of the Order of the Phoenix to the Department of Mysteries to help Harry and his friends battle the Death Eaters, after they were hoodwinked into going there. There, in the “Death Chamber”, another member of the Maruader’s met a tragic demise.

Now that Harry has lost his parents and a parental figure, could Lupin take on that roll?
