What is 'Compulsive Overeating'?

Compulsive Overeating - physical and mental.

Binge eating is when a sufferer consumes large amounts of  food in a very short amount of time.  It is similar to Bulimia except sufferers do not purge.  Sufferers use food to block out feelings and emotions or to fill a void within them from something else in their life that is missing.

The main signs of Compulsive Overeating are:

  • Weight gain
  • Low self-esteem
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Loss of sexual desire
  • Hiding food
  • Swollen glands
  • Feelings of guilt and shame
  • Secretive eating patterns
  • Suicidal thoughts

But remember, not all sufferers will have all symptoms, depending on the severity of it!
