The
remains of the crankshaft from an ASP .46. The front is still out
at the flying field somewhere. The plane was
flying around and had been down on power all
afternoon. On the last flight that I was going to have because the
damn Cubs were flying faster than the FunFly,
the motor conked out. The glide was a little different from normal
though the plane landed without any worries,
though with no prop and front of the crank!
The cause remains unknown. The motor was
worked slightly and could have been tired! I was using 18% Cool
Power Oil and no Nitro!
This
is the Plane that the above ASP motor was in! It is a Price Rite
FunFly built from plans. It flys excellent and
can snap and do the slowest landings and anything
in between! It has 5 servos with 1 for each aileron. Hitec 7X
is the radio. Mixes are Snap Roll, and Flaps
and some Rudder if I get around to working out where that switch is
on the TX. I mostly use the Snap and Flaps
switch as they = FUN, though there are some stress cracks
developing in the plane :-(
This
is what you can expect to happen if you Drink and Drive. If you do
D&D make sure that you allow enough
space to pull up when you drive around you front
yard and there happens to be a damn steep drop over the
edge! If you do drive over the edge, make
sure you own a tractor to pull the car back up again! BTW: this
person lives on the hill above us!
