Brian and Ashley with their team at
Christmas - they are on the far right on the couch
Ashley is successfully out of her first
trimester and we are happy to say that the baby is doing great. In this country you get a sonogram every time
you go to the doctor, so we have had 3 so far. In the last sonogram we were able to see our little baby bouncing
around. It looked like he was doing
some sort of jig and waved as we were looking at him, it is fun to get to have
so many sonograms and see the development of our baby from a little dot to a
baby with arms and legs!
Many of you have asked if we are going to
stay here and have the baby or go back to the states to deliver there. At first we had planned to stay here and have
the baby, but after several weeks of praying and asking God what we should do,
we felt that He is leading us to go back to Texas to deliver the baby. There were many things that we felt Him say
to us, but in short we felt that for the long haul of us staying over here and doing
our work, that the best thing to do is to go home for a few months in this
season.
We are doing well over here and still enjoy
living life over here and it is our hearts’ desire to live here until God says
to go back to America. We long to see a
work started in this city that will grow and reproduce itself throughout the
country. And even though it does seem a
little strange, we feel that for the long haul and to see that happen in our
lives, that He is saying to go to America for this season.
What that means practically is that we will
probably be coming home in mid to late July and staying until the beginning of
November. We will live in Waco and
visit Plano and Houston frequently. We
would appreciate your prayers on details like where to live, getting a car,
finding a doctor, etc. We look forward
to the opportunity to see many of you when we go back!!
Brian went on a guys’ retreat with the guys
on our team last week. We went snow
skiing and he fell down more times than he would like to say. Enough of that news.
We are still doing our best at meeting
people and making relationships. We have
met some people that we would really like to go deeper in relationship with;
please continue to pray with us that we would make great friends here.
Language is slowly but surely coming. Some days are good, some are bad; but mostly
they are somewhere in between.
Again, we can't say thank you enough for all
of your prayers, support, and encouragement; we really could not make it here
without you!! It is an honor to get to
work with you all in serving Him and anticipating His Kingdom to come here!!
Blessings,
Brian and Ashley
