THE BIG DAY ARRIVES........!!!!!!!!!!

After a fretful day before the wedding where it seemed that Graham didn't have a kilt, despite ordering it over 6 months previous, the wedding day arrived and organized chaos reigned in William Street, Kirkcaldy!

Nikki was treated to a beauty session with Julie Hutchison, Beautician (01592 716426), after a morning at the Dom Migele Salon in Kirkcaldy (01592 201212) with Christine the bridesmaid, another trainee veterinary nurse.  Chrissie very kindly came over all the way from Belfast, Northern Ireland to be with us on our special day and we can't thank her enough for her help and support.

The photographer arrived.  We had the husband and wife team of Douglas and Alison Gibb of Mate Gibb Photography in Edinburgh (0131 477 1477), provide their wonderful service on the day.  They arrived at the home of the bride's parents to take casual photographs of the ensuing chaos!!  All these wonderful photographs are by Mate Gibb and all their photos are linked to their web site.

The videographer also arrived.  Also a husband-and-wife team, Neil and Avril McMahon of A & N Videography of Kirkcaldy (01592 652339) did a fantastic job throughout the day, catching all the action on tape for us to treasure for years to come.

While Julie worked wonders with the face paint, Mum got Dad ready and Christine relaxed!  The dress was all laid out; a beautiful 'Pascale' dress, bought from Berkertex Brides at Wilkies of Kirkcaldy (01592 640156). The veil, tiara and shoes were all bought from Wilkies.  A full description of my dress is on the Dress Contest 1999 pages.

The dress was ready and the flowers had arrived.  We had the most fantastic floral display on the day, by Maureen and Margaret (01555 770914), with my bouquet made up of Oriental Lilies, Longiflorum Lilies, Alstromeria, Bianca Roses, Orchids and Lisianthus.

All too soon, it was time for the official portraits in the house to be taken before the cars arrived.

MEANWHILE AT BALBIRNIE..................The boys were getting ready for the Bridal Party to arrive.  Most of the guests were there, enjoying a class of champagne in the Gardens of the House.  The photographer pulled Graham and his Best Man, Paul out to the Front Door for a photo or two (complete with Beer Bottles!).  Graham wore the Pride of Scotland tartan; he was supposed to wear the McLeod tartan but Houston's KiltHire in Paisley made a cock-up and double booked the kilt, even though we ordered over 6 months before!!

The Groom and Best Man were joined by the two Ushers for a photograph.  The ushers were William Jnr. (Graham's brother) and Scott (Nikki's brother).  Willie took Polaroid photos of all the guests when they arrived to go in the Guestbook, and together the ushers showed the guests to their seats and gave out the Order of Ceremony Programmes.  Soon the first of the Bridal cars arrived, with the Mother of the Bride and the Bridesmaid.

All that was left to do was wait on the Bride and her Father arriving and the ceremony could begin.
