Frodo is the hero of Lord Of The Rings, he is the chosen Bearer of the Ring of Power, and must travel to Mount Doom in Mordor to destroy it. Frodo lives in Bag End in the Shire. He's spent too much time listening to fanciful tales and legends the inhabitents of the Shire think he barely hs the sense "to know a swede from a turnip" as the Shire saying goes. Frodo's parents (Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck) were killed when Frodo was young in a boating accident, and he was adopted by Mr. Bilbo Baggins, because he was the only relation of Bilbo's to show any spirit. When Bilbo departs from the Shire, he leaves Frodo Bag End and all of his possessions, including the one ring. Gandalf the wizard advises Frodo to take the Ring to Rivendell, and so Frodo departs on his Heroic quest to destroy the one ring with his friends, Sam, Merry and Pippin at his side. He is armed with his shirt of mithril (stronger than dragon scales, and as light as a feather) and an elvish blade of Bilbo's called 'Sting', which glows blue when Orcs are close.
