  • Designed and taught beginning and advanced integrated-skills ESL classes to adults of mixed native language backgrounds in a vocational rehabilitation program.

  • Made detailed progress reports of students' progress and participated in long-term curriculum planning.
  • Designed and taught an advanced content-based ESL Computer Theory course including Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.

EF Language Academy in Oakland, California

  • According to a preset curriculum, designed and taught two week modules of multi-skills classes: grammar/listening/speaking and reading/writing. Weekly classes were held in a language laboratory on campus.


Survival Japanese Instructor (December, 1997 and July, 1998)
Custom Language Services in Monterey, California

  • Custom designed and taught survival Japanese for everyday life to executives being transferred to Japan.


Writing Workshop Instructor (Winter Semester, 1998)
Monterey Institute of International Studies Graduate Program in Monterey, California

  • Provided semester-long one on one 4 credit writing class for students in the Master's program who wished to work on writing skills. Both native and non-native English speaking students participated.


Web-Intern for the Graduate School of Language (December, 1997- November, 1998)
Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California

  • Developed and taught for 2 credits a teacher-training course for other students regarding the use of the World Wide Web in language classrooms.
  • In association with the webmaster, Dean and faculty, designed and implemented a new website for the Graduate school.
  • Provided technological support and training as needed for the faculty.

Sakushin Gakuin Kindergarten-Women`s Junior College in Tochigi, Japan

  • Sole Responsibility for the lesson planning, testing, and teaching of conversational English at seven different grade levels.
  • Participated in school activities such as opening and closing ceremonies and sports festivals (undokai, bunkasai).
  • Accompanied middle school students on official school trips such as overnight skiiing and hiking trips.
