| 1stTrimester 2nd Trimester 3rd Trimester Nursery January 1, 2003 - News Confirmed with Home Pregnancy Test YEAH!!!! January 6, 2003 - First Doctor's Visit. Complete exam and blood taken for testing. Doctor's response to my question of whether she will do a test to confirm the pregancy "Why? Don't you KNOW if you ARE pregnant?". Thinking of switching doctor. Finally the doctor does an ultrasound and estimated the pregnancy to be about 3-4wks. February 8, 2003 - Is told all tests are good, but definitely switching doctor. She's 1hr late. And I am told by the receptionist who shows up 30min late at 10:30AM, all her patients know 10AM appointments doesn't mean she comes at 10AM. Don't feel like dealing with crap like this. February 21, 2003 - First Appt. with new doctor. She's great. The nurse is very nice. They explain all the tests and exams they will be doing and confirm the pregnancy without being asked. More blood taken for testing. I heard the baby's heart for the first time. Very exciting!!! I got a care package as a congratulations from the doctor's office. March 24, 2003 - Test results are good. Doctor went over in details all the tests and their results. More blood taken for testing (AFP or Triple Screen tests) Something about genetic screening. Dung came this time so he can listen to the baby's heart. I have gained 4lbs since the last visit and is told I'm on target. YEAH!!!! April 7, 2003 - Ultrasound!!! It took 45minutes for the technician to take all the measurements, during which time I fell asleep several times. So boring because she had to concentrate so we couldn't ask questions until she was done and ready to let us look at the baby. *Yawn* I think Dung fell asleep too :) All the measurements were good and the baby is confirmed to be 18weeks and 9 oz in weight. It was moving around quite a bit, grasping with its hands, kicking its feet, and STRETCHING! WOW! :) But this seems to be a shy baby, everytime we looked between the legs he/she would close the legs or move so we could not see the nether regions. Oh well..its OK HERE'S THE BABY!!!! - its a little grainy but to us it is still exciting. |
