Starting on Christmas Eve, promptly at sundown, Mom would put out homemade cookies, divinity, and Million Dollar fudge, along with ribbon candy and nuts, both roasted and in the shell.  If her mother was visiting, she would usully bring a pan of panuche.  Dad would have bought a box of Russel Stover cremes (they don't make 'em like they used to, folks), and there might be something that a business associate or client had sent him (one year it was a huge tub of wonderful strawberry jam).

On Christmas morning, Mom always made cocoa.  We'd usually have a glass of orange juice - a nod to nutrition - and then fruitcake or (in Dad's case - he hates fruitcake) toast and nuts, and maybe a piece of fudge and/or divinity.

The traditional Christmas-dinner menu in my family was always turkey, dressing (AKA stuffing), gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry jelly, and a huge relish tray with carrot and celery sticks, radishes, green onions, dill and sweet pickles, olives (stuffed green, and black ripe [my favorite]), pickled beets, and anything else that looked good to Mom in the produce section.  For dessert - Plum Duff.  If Mom was really on a roll, she'd make pumpkin pie, or chocolate or butterscotch cream pie - sometimes more than one.

You could say we never went hungry at Christmas time.  In fact, we all ended up looking somethin' like the li'l snowman, below.

I haven't made a separate holiday recipes page for you, and not all the recipes for our traditional menus are here, by far.  I've listed only recipes I already have on this web site, that are part of my family's Christmas-Eve or Christmas tradition, in some way or other.
