Very little is known about John Thomas RUDKINS (RUDKIN).  His mother died when he was very young, his father was John Rudkin born in England.  He was raised in Cleveland County Arkansas by the RANKIN family.  Mary Rankin, a daughter, married (?) SHULTZ.  She was referred to by the family as "Aunt Mary Shultz".  She thought of John as a brother.  It is not known if the Rankin family was related to John's father or mother. John married Sarah Beckwith ca 1875 (they were listed on the 1880 Cleveland Co., AR census) and had children.  The 's' was added to the Rudkin(s) name and the descendents of the first marriage is known as Rudkins and the descendents of the second marriage is known as Rudkin.
