Pretty Woman |
A pretty woman is... That special person or persons in your life...a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, friend. |
Beauty of a Woman The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not a facial mole, true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring she lovingly gives, the passion she shows, and the beauty of a woman, with passing time...only grows! Author unknown |

Woman Saver's ..making life a bit smoother.. |
Send me an E-mail with your favorite tips ...cleaning, cooking, shopping, anything that saves time, money or just makes you or someone else feel good. |
CAREGIVERS: Use baby wipes (your favorite brand, with aloe) for quick clean-ups and refreshers. Use a weekly pill dispenser, one with a box for each day of the week...fill it once a week. This is especially good for persons taking multiple medications. If a pill is hard to swallow, put it in applesauce, some pills are not to be crushed, but can be swallowed easily with applesauce. Have something in place for a 'help call', an inexpensive hand held bell (the sovenier kind will do) that rings loud enough for you to hear. (Mary) CARPETS: Mud stained carpet - sprinkle with salt, let set a few minutes and vacuum. The salt absorbs the stain; also, perks up a tired old carpet. (Mary) To remove pet urine from a carpet, mix 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 pint of water. Pour on spot, let set a few minutes, brush and vacuum with a wet/dry vac. (Mary) When you put down new carpet, save a piece. When your carpet gets a stain, stain a small section of the saved piece and test with stain removers to see what works and won't harm the carpet. (Mary) CLEANING: Baking soda for cleaning and deodorizing works just as well as other powder cleansers. It takes red kool aid stains right out of white counter tops. Use it with a soap pad to clean soap scum from the tub. Also, a good grease cutter. (Susan) Boiling hot salt water poured down the drain will prevent odors and remove grease. Use 1/2 cup of salt to one quart of water. (Mary) Another good drain deoderizer and cleaner...pour 1/2 cup soda in drain, add 1 cup vinegar. Let set until the fizz stops, before running water through. (Mary) PETS: Put down underpads at night for your old house dogs with bladder control problems. You can use the puppy training pads, but the large underpads found in the store's health care section works better for older dogs. |

WareHouse Chili 4 lbs ground beef OR 3 lbs extra lean ground chuck 2 onions diced 1 bell pepper diced 1 can Extra Hot Rotel 1 lg can of tomato sauce (or 2 small cans) 2 cans tomato soup 2 cans of water (use soup cans) 2 cans red kidney or pinto beans 3 Tablespoons chili powder (more or less, depending on taste, I use 2 tablespoons) Salt to taste In a large pot, cook meat until no pink is left, drain. Add all the other ingredients, EXCEPT beans and chili powder, simmer 2 - 3 hours (the longer, the better). May add more water, if needed, for the preferred consistency. Add beans and chili powder, simmer another 30 minutes. Makes 4-4 1/2 quarts. Freeze leftovers, its just as good or better, the second time around! (from Mary's kitchen) |
Never Fail Yeast Rolls 1 package (1/4 ounce)active dry yeast 1 1/2 cups warm water (110-115 degrees) 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 (9 ounce) package yellow OR white cake mix 1/2 teaspoon salt Melted butter or margarine In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat in the flour, dry cake mix and salt (do not knead). Place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Punch dough down; divide in half. Roll each portion into a 12 inch circle; cut each circle into 12 wedges. Roll up each wedge, beginning at the wide end; place point-side down on greased baking sheet. Brush with butter. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 24 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 2 dozen. (This is an extra easy recipe and the rolls are extra good. If I can make them turn out right, anyone can do it!) Recipe is from Irene Wassell's Idea Alley, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 1/5/2000. |

Eclair 2 pks vanilla pudding mix (small boxes) 3 cups milk 16 oz cool whip (light is ok) 1 box graham crackers 1 tub chocolate frosting Mix first three ingredients with mixer. In 13" X 9" pan, layer the graham crackers, 1/2 of the pudding mixture, add another layer of graham crackers and the remainder of the pudding mixture. Add another layer of graham crackers. Ice with chocolate frosting. (Microwave the frosting for about 25 seconds...enough to stir and pour on top of the graham crackers...it will harden again when refrigerated). Chill overnight or until graham crackers soften. (from the McFarland kitchen) I tried caramel and lemon frosting. Both were good, but the milk chocolate can't be beat!...Mary |

Fruit Dip 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1 can condensed milk 12 oz cool whip Gradually add condensed milk to the cream cheese, while beating on low, until mixture is creamy. Fold in cool whip. Now you are ready to dip or spread. Leftovers can be frozen. This is my favorite for whole, fresh strawberries. Also good with peaches. Can also be used as cake frosting, alone or add cherry pie filling or frozen sliced strawberries. I'm sure there are other uses. |
